That’s not a question you can ask. Reason being, current Apple employees are actually prohibited from even participating on discussion sites like this. It’s part of their policy/procedure agreement upon hire.
I am not prohibited from asking any questions thanks. I am not under and Apple contracts. Apple does not decide the questions people can ask. Also there is a big difference between “participating” and “visiting” the site. Apple employees can go to any site they want any time they want. They can post as well. They are prohibited from identifying themselves as Apple employees, representing Apple, or making statements or conjecture based on their knowledge of Apple policies or products. Unlike you I have READ and SIGNED this document in the past so I understand what it says. Please don’t make statements as facts about things you have never seen or touched.

They can post as well.

I didn’t even have to read the rest of your post, when this sentence says it all. What you’re posting, is not factually accurate and I would politely suggest investigating empirical research before making unnecessary comments that you were called out for, now you won’t take ownership for your own error. It’s not that big of a deal, it happens.

Like I said, I signed the document, I worked for Apple, I know the facts here. You are making claims based on things you have not held in your hand or been involved in. Stick to facts you know and don't pretend to know. Not talking about this anymore with you.

+1 to this. I have also signed it. You can participate, you cannot identify yourself or discuss what you read on a rumor site in your official capacity as an Apple employee.

Here in the UK they are apparently stopping a lot of in store repairs, and instead shipping computers out to repair centres.

Cutting hourly staffing levels? How is this possible when Apple is making so much money. This is just last quarter. It could be Apple is finding themselves not needing geniuses around anymore.

The original commenter’s point was about individual stores and what managers can do to, well, manage the store. The company as a whole can be profitable despite an individual store being not profitable. Should Apple really spend money from its war chest to prop up a struggling Apple Store, especially one that might not be deemed “strategic”?

Because it doesn’t take a ”genius” to swap out An iPhone or fix the massive majority of problems that John Q. Public has with their stuff. Id bet that 10 percent of what they do is working on Macs which takes much more skill. 90 percent is swapping iPhones and restarting devices or things like “your AirPods arent working because your Bluetooth is off”.
Right most just exchange you stuff. Probably cost less than paying health insurance and benefits.
