It has been so long now that the apple cinema display is no longer above average quality, especially in responce time, laptop displays have been keeping up steadilly though. if i was to buy a monitor i would buy a sharp HDTV aquos is cutting edge in every field of interest to an LCD buyer. I believe apple builds their displays by themselves so my incling is that they have been working on something really sweet, or playing catchup. It would be hard to juggle screens ontop of the usual products, especially in a market that has some very aggressive screen manufacturers to keep up with. I betcha their working on holograms. or a special electronic sandcastle sand. i just hope my cat doesnt sh it in it

Niiicceee... way to be behind the curve. They should have hired someone for this 3 years back, and had the product on the market last summer. We can probably expect a multi-touch monitor from Apple in 2010/1

Yes, since obviously they don't have any multi-touch engineers already working for them. Do you think it only takes a few people to engineer advanced electronics devices? And "behind the curve"? How many consumer multi-touch products are on the market?

I'm all for holography in the future but right now all I'm asking for is a basic update: New improved panels, bigger sizes perhaps, especially bumping the 23" up to 24", slightly new design, thinner, built in iSight, built in remote sensor for Front Row, & reduced prices. That's about it. Shouldn't be too much to ask since they haven't done a thing with them in like 2 freaking years! I know LEDs are still too expensive for the large ACD sizes, that could be the following revision. COME ON APPLE!!!

I think we all know that the apple TV is probably the least successful Apple product. Do you all not think that this could be hinting at a television set with an apple TV built in? The screen would be multi touch for browsing the movie store. And at the same time apple would be sort of hitting on Microsof Surface.
to me this seems obviouse that they are planning to make larger touch screens than we are used to on the iphone and it seems impraticle to have multi touch ACDs. Therfore what does that leave you? I can only think of a television sets Which might be what is needed to give the apple TV its much needed boost. .
