Heh. I was saying that those that are invested in the Apple ecosystem (i.e. They have lots of purchases content - TV shows and Movies - up in their iTunes catalog) may not want to invest in a NAS. If Apple had more reasonable pricing and future-proofed the offerings (i.e. Free upgrades to 4k and 8k when it comes), then I might consider migrating.

I have far too much content stored on my Synology NAS to consider moving to a 3rd party cloud. :) 32TB and counting. :)

As for those that suggested you need an ATV4 to access your Synology content - you DO know that you can use Plex, right? I've got ATV3's that I'm using Plex with - no issues whatsoever.

I am curious why this statement? I have several shows that I have purchased but, for the most part all of my stuff is either dvd or blu-ray rips also. but even if you are invested in the apple ecosystem having your content that you purchased from apple whether music or movies doesn't impact the use of a NAS? Unless I am missing something. Again, not being argumentative, I am just curious that is all.

I only have 60 out of my 400 dvd/blu-rays ripped at the moment. But I have over 1300 cd's ripped, lossless which is the bulk of my data. I have them all residing on my NAS box and have iTunes, Plex, Sonos, and StreamToMe accessing all of the information from my NAS.

Yeah I completely agree about the third party cloud. Way to much data and the price would be to expensive to move it there for me also!
