How do the new Apple HomePod gets its power? Does it get its power by the Lighting Cable or by USB Type-C?

On the Apple HomePod Website, their isn't a thing about what ports does the HomePod has. So I don't know if it has a lighting port or USB Type-C.

I was enthusiastic at first. Buying 2 of these for the living room would be great. However, if it can't be connected to my TV or PVR then it's a no-no. I don't want 2 sets of speakers/amps in my living room.

Don’t expect this thing to have any useful IO. There won’t be any audio-in options for connecting a HomePod to an existing media system or TV. This will be intended as an entirely standalone media system, aimed purely at playing music and then home automation further down the line.

I doubt it won’t work, at the very least, with the Apple TV.

I’m not sure. iOS can’t talk to AppleTV as far as Siri is concerned, only used as a remote. So it depends if they build in new functionality. Possibly something AirPlay based, to output audio from AppleTV to HomePod. That could work well for selecting music I guess.

If you use  TV, iOS 11 gives it Airplay 2 support which will enable streaming to this guy.
