I changed the email address for my Apple ID, and it all worked online, but my MacBook applications (Messages, FaceTime etc...) all keep asking for the old email address and password. How can I fix this?

It's really irritating, and quite frankly shocking that Apple can't have the whole iCloud account automatically update for such a menial thing, when Safari, Notes, and all that stuff can...

Its not so shocking, its a feature. Each of those services support multiple accounts so they have to allow for your AppleID email changing but a Notes/iMessage/Facetime account still existing connected to the email address details.

I had iCloud screw up on my original AppleID so I have a different AppleID for iTunes, Apps etc to the rest of my services.

To fix your issue you would need to sign out of each service using the original email BUT you may lose any data associated with that service/email combo.

Thanks Simon, but after I did the OS X Yosemite beta update it signed me out, and got me to log back in, so it's all okay now :)
