Hi guys,

Not sure if the iOS thread is the best place for this but I couldn't see anywhere obvious...

My parents have been gifted an Apple TV but need an iTunes account (to get Netflix etc on it), they don't have credit cards to create the account and having grandkids over often I don't fancy making them one with one of my cards attached in-case of accidental purchases. I've seen many tips on making an Apple ID without a payment option attached but none seem to work currently, Apple seem to not want you to have this option.

Does anyone know a current method that works??

Thanks for any info!

FWIW

If you're using the iTunes Store or App Store for the first time
If you're using the store for the first time with an existing Apple ID, you must provide a payment method. After you create the account, you can change your payment information to None.

Looks like if you're creating a brand new Apple ID, you can select None for the payment information... but if it's not a new Apple ID, you have to enter a payment method, then go back and remove it.

Thanks guys - tried that and instead of "Use existing Apple ID" or "Create new Apple ID" I just get this:

Hence the problem!?
