I don't know Apple environment very well so I have to upgrade my Snow Leopard to El Capitan from Apple Store but I ask myself if Snow Leopard used Apple ID or it's normally configured with this one?
I know following OSX are configured to use Apple id.
Friend gave me iMac to update and I'd like if I have to ask him its Apple id or it's already configured inside S.L.

So I have to create new Apple ID to download and upgrade my snow leopard ?
You need an Apple ID of some sort to sign in and download El Capitan, if that's what you're trying to do. The Apple ID you use has no relationship to any version of OS X that's already installed on the computer.
