My original Apple account is an AOL email address. That's where I have made all my purchases from iTunes. I then signed up for a .Mac account way back when, so then I had a .mac email address. Then that .mac address switched to a .me address when MobileMe was created. I have also had been purchasing extra storage space with my MobileMe since I have a large photo gallery with tons of pictures and videos that I share with my friends.

I was slow to realize that I essentially had more than one account with Apple. It was never an issue though. But now with iOS5, I'm not sure what to do. On my MacBookPro I believe I have used my AOL address as the ID for iCloud, which is my iTunes account address. Same goes for my iPhone 4 (4S arriving today!). But I noticed last night that my iPad was set up with the iCloud using, get this, my .mac address, which I haven't used in ages. (And I think I even bought an App with that account via my iPad.) And it looks like it has automatically signed me up for a larger iCloud account for $100 a year. I did not ask for this, though I suppose Apple is assuming I want to continue using the extra space I was paying for over in MobileMe.

So I think I now have two iCloud accounts. And when I visit them, I get different choices. For example, one has iWork and one doesn't. The Find My iPhone doesn't have my laptop or my iPad plus I'm not sure it has the right iPhone. Have I totally screwed things up? I would prefer to use just my AOL address for everything - for my iTunes account, for my one iCloud, and for all my devices - MacBookPro, iPhone, iPad, iPod.

What do I do? I did notice that when I was on my iPad, it wouldn't let me change the iCloud account email address. Do I have to delete it and set it up again?
