Apple currently refuses to merge 2 Apple ID's which makes using certain apple services impossible to use. Is there a workaround or fix to the following problem?

My iDevices currently use my App Store ID for Facetime and iMessage: Example@gmail.com. I'm forced to use this ID because its the ID I use for App Store Purchases

I want to use my App Store ID as well for iMessage in Mountain Lion but defaults to my iCloud account which is where I have all my stuff synced so I'm forced to use Example@me.com. Do you see the issue here?

I can't receive my imessages because I'm forced to use 2 different ids on 2 different platforms.

Until Apple allows IDs to be merged, just decide which one you want to use for particular apps. I use my iTunes (gmail) ID only for iTunes, and my mac ID for everything else. One you set it up this way, you'll never notice it again (well, mostly).
