Hi so i recently bought a late 2015 27 5k imac custom with the upgraded (4.0 ghz) i7 CPU and the upgraded m95x 4GB AMD Radeon Graphics prosessor with an ssd option that set me back (£2250)

Now i would just like to know if the screen clouding issue that you used to get with the old fatter 2009-2011 imac 27's has been totally fixed with these new models, apple state that this issue no longer pursues but im very skeptical and when you have a computer worth more than your car you would be.

if anyone does not know what im talking about please feel free to google the issue, there is plenty of articles about the screen clouding issue with the older imacs caused by a build up of natural dust particles via heat exposure to the lcd panel creating dark spots or smuges behind the actual Display leaving you with permanent smudges/dark spots on the display and leaving you powerless to do anything about it unless you still have a warranty.

I was debating weather to buy a macpro or an imac because of this but i was asured by apple that the issue has been fixed on the new models due to a much thinner uni body design making the system alot more air tight but i need proof that its gone for good as i will be very, very disapointed and angry if it happens with my new one as i have been saving for months to buy this thing.

thanks any help is valued greatly

I've not really heard of this and I don't recall seeing any threads on this topic, so by inference (lack of complaints), I'd say it is resolved.

I broke my 2009 iMac by trying to remove the dust from behind the screen. But I haven't heard about this issue for years, and my fiance's 2011 model is dust-free, so I guess they did fix it.

If you're talking about dust getting between the LCD and the glass screen, this should no longer be an issue because the glass and the LCD are now fused together into a a single unit. However, there are very rare reports of dust or bugs finding a gap and getting in, but these are very, very few and far between.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I want to post here so that other people are aware. This issue is not fixed. Eight months after the purchase, my 27" iMac (Late 2015 5K) has developed stains in both lower corners.
