Don’t do it Apple! I expect better from you than “reality” TV trash. The plague of so-called reality TV, including completions of various sorts, is a blight on what might otherwise be a new golden-age for TV. (IMHO)

It makes perfect business sense to be in talks with lots of studios, content creators and many people inside and outside of Hollywood. This streaming service will need different content, regardless of whether you personally like reality TV or not, it’s popular in a lot of places and makes sense for Apple to be looking into it.

Nobody thinks the general idea is bad but what we have seen Apple doing in the sector is shockingly bad, tonedeaf and outdated. It’s so bad that I’m not sure if I can bear Apple damaging their brand this much. I fear for them.

The last thing we need is Apple to distribute or create reality shows.

Maybe Apple should do a reality show on how to create better products.
This is pathetic.
[doublepost=1552576264][/doublepost]I guess reality shows is what Apple considers innovation in content....

I’m sure Apple appreciates your concern, but please release the pearls; I fear they might be cutting off your oxygen supply

I didn't know the 1%'ers that can afford Apple stuff were such big fans.

Give it a rest. 1%'ers? iOS is used by 33% of the users in the US. Not every brand has to cater to the budget buyer, and you can't just have anything you want.

The most primitive braindead content for Tim Apple.

So fed up with what this company has become. It's not funny anymore.

Perhaps they are building a service that can cater to people who have both the same and different tastes than yours? You know, the same as any TV station or cable company that has ever existed? If you're so fed up, there's the door. It's easy enough to walk through.

Please, tell me Apple wants to divest its content business, not grow it! Oh the humanity....

The lack of creativity in the usual Apple-hate is shocking. Apple failing, Jobs spinning, sharks being jumped, think different, courage, innovation... yawnnnnn.

Come on, people—time to up your game. You can do better.

I am disappoint :(

I think they should get Paul O'Grady and Tim Apple to host a show together. A nice musical number. Good, honest family entertainment, with a resurrection of Lilly Savage in the middle. What could possibly go wrong.

EDIT------

This is nothing to do with them being gay as one numpty pointed out. It's to do with them looking like identical twins.

I wouldn't expect Apple content to be radically different that what's currently out there. Everyones tastes are different. Even Apple can't please everyone all the time. Although I was hoping they would "think different" than gameshows and reality shows.

Uh, this pretty much sums up everything monumentally wrong with :apple: lately. They have no focus except on profits. No wonder why some of Hollywood is frustrated with :apple: on a production level. To say nothing of the creative professionals who had to light a fire under Cook’s core for :apple: to get going with the Mac Pro again.

Why, yes Tim, the world needs and wants more reality tv... /s

Oh I get it, because Paul O’Grady is gay and Tim Cook is gay!! That’s hilarious!!

It’s 2019, get over it.

If it was anyone but Tim Cook being the CEO and former CFO, I would agree.
I'm only stating how Apple (with or without Tim Cook) has always operated. Of course you can disagree with their effectiveness under Cook's leadership.

CFO? Tim Cook was never CFO.

Yep, this service can't be compared with Apple Music, not one bit. Apple Music is not a service that revolves around Apple produced music, it revolves around what's already available in the industry. This is why it will fail.
I'm not comparing it to Apple Music. Read the comment I replied to.

By your logic, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and HBO should all have failed too since they now stream their own original content instead of just relying on big studios and TV networks. Apple will do fine. All they need is one or two hit shows and they will become a contender just like any other video streaming service. On day one of their service, they will reach more customers than any streaming video service launch in history so even if every show is terrible, they will be fine.
