iPhone 12 Pro Apple In-store pickup without ID?

Just found out my wallet was stolen with ID.šŸ˜« Now I am not sure what to do with in store pickup for Friday, What are my options? I have a picture of my ID that I can print out or show on phone. I have an old passport that is expired and I also have birth certificate.

Will all of those work together or am I screwed?

Apple Store will check ID so bring what you have: your old passport, birth certificate and your phone with the QR code as they will scan it when you line up.

I have never seen DMW issue a new card in 5 days in my state.

You have a better chance getting a new passport issued by your local secretary of state dept in 1 day under emergency applications which my wife had to do at the Federal building in West LA.....

Are you able to go online and order a replacement DL? Where I live, you can print a copy showing that you are waiting for the replacement. You could take that with the other ID items you have.

Must be a California thing. Here in FL I can walk into the DMV with required paperwork (birth cert, passport, etc. ) and get a replacement ID today.

I tried but I have to go in. Then in my town they arenā€™t doing appointments. I am in CA and some stuff is still lockdown so they are being really picky with appointments and walk ins... And I have a address change to boot. I am going to go to DMV and see what I can get.

So I have to show plane tickets within a week to be able to get a passport expedited!šŸ˜«

Wow we must be behind the times with DMV in CA then. Same day?!

You really don't need to SHOW the plane tickets. You just need to tell them you plan to travel abroad imminently. If you feel better having a "ticket" go onto united.com, put together an itinerary and print it out. You don't need to actually "Check out."

Also there must be a "temp" option at the DMV. Here in Ohio a "regular" DL you get same day. The "enhanced" DL they mail to you within a week, in the mean time they give you a printout to use in case you get pulled over.

hmmmm, well i need to upgrade to a "Real ID" now and i dont have a copy of Social security card for that. So i guess i will have to ask about expitited a copy of old one, its just cause of coivd those wait times have been months still.

What's their response to the question of what is someone to do when they need an ID in the next 2-3 weeks?

In my State (Wisconsin), if you were to go to DMV today, they will issue a temporary ID on paper, which is an acceptable form of an ID, while you wait for the physical card to arrive. I've never had issues showing them the paper version of the ID to Apple when they requested to see an ID or going to a bar, etc.

Edit: Wisconsin DMV no longer issues a physical card on the same day, they used to, but that policy changed, and they mail you a physical card, but gives you a printed copy of it for you to use. For them this is to cut down on fake ID's.

OP, unless you are a frequent visitor like me, they know who I am, they don't even ask for my ID. But I show them anyways for formality.

What better ID than a Passport? Can't imagine you having any problem whatsoever. It trumps (pardon the wording) a Driver License.

Well I am there every launch every year at 8am. Except the 10 cause they didnā€™t do in store for those. But thatā€™s only once a year.

Itā€™s seeming more and more that CA is very far behind or just donā€™t want to help out people that need it in a pinch. Our printout does shot have picture in it

Why don't you call the Apple store and explain the situation? They must certainly know what to do.

So then it seems like they don't offer an actual ID that can be used as an ID during the time period that they supposedly make and mail a new one -- seems like the question remains as far as what is it that they then say someone is to do if they actually need an ID in the next few weeks?
