I think everyone is missing the point. Its probably more so for the monthly music service that anything else.

Edit: HouD has his head in the game.

I don't think when everyone complained about Apple not spending much of their cash that they thought Apple should buy Beats audio...

WTF! I can't think of a worse brand to acquire. Their products are tacky-looking and don't sound as good as some of the other manufacturers like JBL, B&O and so on.

What are they thinking? The look of Beats products doesn't fit into Apple's design language at all.

I have the same feelings as this. The companies are very different and it makes no sense to mix them.

Well, perhaps from a marketing point, Apple devices (iPad, Mac, EarPods, etc) will feature "Beats Audio" and so the HP computers (IIRC) as well as the HTC phones will cease to use them so that's a plus for Apple?

It would not be surprising to me if Beats managed to get a great streaming license deal that the record companies would not give Apple, so Apple sees it as a better investment to outright buy beats while at the same time eliminating a future competitor :)

There are other companies Apple has been linked with that I think would make more sense first. Hopefully just a rumour and nothing will come of it.

It's a TRAP! Don't do it Apple! The PR is NOT worth it. They have a reputation for terrible build quality. Their drivers are worse than your basic in-ear headphones!

Biggest waste of money ever. Terrible audio completely counter to the quality we are used to with the Apple brand. Still love Apple products but increasingly glad I dumped my Apple stock last year.

Seems like a strange acquisition? One would think Apple could design and produce better hardware and a percentage of the Beats user base would already be linked to itunes.. Patents? Sell itunes products via android?

I think it makes perfect sense. Five years ago Apples white earbuds ruled the streets. That position has been usurped by beats.

Audio equipment is also quite stale and disconnected. Apple could certainly disrupt that market by making it "smarter".

I don't understand all the angst. Obviously the company wouldn't be the same under apple assuming the deal goes through.

Thank you, kindly.

I love everyone on here posting as if they are so much more business savvy than Apple. Last time I checked, they weren't doing too poorly as a business.

Interesting did you sell right around $400 because now it is around 600:D I would not be glad at all..

Apples audio products suck anyway, even more than beats'.

I believe this is more about the music service than it is about the hardware - Apple has been looking to launch an on demand service like Spotify, and what better way than to buy out the #2 in that market? Beats is built off MOG, which I felt was actually superior to Spotify.

And as far as the hardware goes, as overpriced ugly and underperforming as it is, it still sells like crazy.

Wow why the hate? What makes this a worthless acquisition? Beats Brand is doing very well and has a core following...despite how you true "audiophiles" :rolleyes:feel about the quality(they have improved) the average consumer is not concerned about all that dissecting decibels, frequencies etc

I, for one, am ready for the iBeat ____ jokes.
