From what I can tell Apple is using their money to play the long game. They are not trying to create a "pop" to let others subscribe to their services quickly. They are trying to be the next HBO.

newly widowed woman named Cora Seaborne (played by Knightley) who escapes from an abusive marriage

Which is it? did she do both? meaning she escaped by murder? Not sure the term "widowed" is used in a spousal murder plot? Are we looking at the right plot line here?

The current description of the show doesn't interest me but I always like Knightley so that's great she's popping up again!

Everyone, including the military https://www.militarytimes.com/news/...al-to-support-more-american-troops-in-poland/

"Agrees deal" is wrong. "Agrees to a deal" is correct, or "signs a deal"

Well that's how it goes in the USA. British usage is different ("wrong" or not) and parties may indeed "agree a deal" even if they may also "agree to do" this or that. Some American TV networks in recent years have adopted certain Briticisms, possibly because some of their hires are from the UK.

Oh man - does anyone remember that old school Macrumors forum member that had Kiera Knightley’s pic as his profile pic? I’m thinking back to like 2004 here. Forget his username, but he’s gotta be stoked.
also I miss that guy Duffman that used to give great tech advice on here and then go “Oh Yeah!” at the end...

Who said she killed her husband? He could have been killed in a car accident. Of course, in could always look at the underlying book...

I think in the case of the Essex Serpent we can rule out a car crash. (Sorry, couldn't resist! :p) I'm a bit surprised Apple are having a go at this as I'm not sure how it will work a screenplay - books that centre on a creeping unease often don't work terribly well and have to sort of become something else...
