Apple Intelligence is still not available as of the fourth developer beta of iOS 18 this week, leading some to wonder if the features have been delayed. However, we have confirmed that Apple still plans to add some of the new Apple Intelligence features to an upcoming beta this summer. In other words, developers will be able to test the first Apple Intelligence features at some point before iOS 18 is widely released to the public.

Given that public betas of iOS are based on developer betas, Apple Intelligence will likely be added in an upcoming iOS 18 public beta version as well.

Apple in mid-June removed the "this summer" timeframe that initially appeared at the bottom of its Apple Intelligence page for developers, but as we stated above, there is no change in plans from what Apple announced at WWDC. The features will likely be added before the end of August, ahead of iOS 18 being widely released in September.

Apple Intelligence features will be available in U.S. English only at launch, and they will require an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max. The features will also be available on Mac and iPad models equipped with an M1 chip or newer.

Apple Intelligence will be able to summarize text, prioritize notifications and emails, and generate custom emoji and images, while the technology will also power a smarter version of Siri with richer language understanding, deeper per-app controls, on-screen awareness, and more. Apple said some of the features, along with support for additional languages and software platforms, will be added "over the course of the next year."

Even when iOS 18 is widely released in September, Apple said some of the Apple Intelligence features will still be considered a "preview" for all users. The full rollout of Apple Intelligence on the iPhone is expected to be completed in 2025.

So just set your system language to U.S. English and you’re good to go?
Guess we will see.
For screen mirroring in Europe you only have to be connected to an American account in the Mac App Store. Though I’ve seen some .plist files mentioning Greymatter and os/region_eligibility in the iOS files, so don’t know if it will be sufficient for AI.

Apple yesterday invited developers for sessions on Apple Intelligence in Cupertino on August 14, which would correspond to a Wednesday, which is coherent with a release day for a public beta

With an Apple Intelligence session for August 14th, and betas came out on the 22nd, and new betas are every two weeks. My guess would be that beta 5 would include AI and arrive on the 5th of August. That would give developers a week to try out AI and bring their apps with them to the session.

This better be available on release day. Its the biggest feature of iOS18, and if they push it to .1 or .2 it will be pathetic.
I would prefer they push it to .1 or .2 release honestly. I don't understand what is the rush every one has to AI everything without proper testing and management being in place.

With all the AI features continuing to roll out post-iOS 18 launch I think this is the first year I will keep beta updates on after I get my iPhone upgrade. Really looking forward to trying them out as soon as possible.

Apple Intelligence is not a single new feature. It is a set of new features in almost every app in the OS. Each app’s AI integration will come out at different times when it is ready. We know some of the more advanced interactions with Siri will not be ready until after the first of the year. This is a big push and I’d rather some parts be in .1 or .2 than all of it be in .0 and have too many bugs.

Mark my words. Apple Intelligence won’t be fully operational until late 2025 - early 2026. It’s embarrassing.
Apple has already indicated that Apple Intelligence won’t officially launch until 2025. (Beta launch in 2024. Full launch in 2025.)

So… (pardon me for being blunt, but) I don’t know why anyone here would bother marking your words, lol. Your words are just Apple’s words. (Unless the full release does get delayed until 2026.)

Although I just quoted your reply. Technically speaking… I just marked your words. Darn. You got me. Well done. 😂

Expecting a slow roll out with all the features available only by mid 2025.

Apple already stated via another communication that Apple Intelligence and ChatGPT integration is expected for iOS/iPadOS 18.1 and for macOS on 15.1 until later in the fall (which make sense considering their release is for the .1 branch of the operating systems: https://www.apple.com/apple-intelli...68674641812_pntwk_g_pchan__pexid__#footnote-1
No, at the end of the June keynote they confirmed that it would be available during the iOS 18 betas. Not just that, it said SOME features are going to be coming over the course of the year, so most features would probably release with the beta this summer, and the rest would release over the course of next year (hopefully Apple prepones Siri 2.0 to be released by Holiday 2024, that would be a treat, but then again it’s a lot of effort.)

Maybe because if the company is boasting about it at WWDC and it is the biggest change in a long time, and tests start in July, it would be best to either test it thoroughly or postpone the premiere by a month and release it then. If Apple decided to consider the system ready in September, but real changes are in December or January, this is simply not serious. If they are not ready for major changes in September, they should change the release cycle and refine all functions for the premiere of the system.

Well its almost like apple started with the AI stuff only few months ago and they really didn’t have anything special for iOS 18. Since they wanna sell new hardware they come up with “later this year” or “early next year”. Its so sad really…they had years wasted doing nothing with Siri…

no they didn’t, references to private cloud compute servers can be found in iOS 16.4

My bet is that most user facing and consumer oriented features such as the image generation and summarization features will be available to test during the summer beta cycle and the more advanced Apple Intelligence features, like the Mail categorization, onscreen AI and Siri 2.0 features will be beta tested starting with iOS18.1 beta in September all throughout the rest of the year. The image generation and summarization features will be available to the public in beta form starting with iOS18 and the rest will be added with iOS18.1 in February/March 2025.
