Apple CEO Tim Cook announced during the company's Q4 2024 earnings call that Apple Intelligence will soon support eight additional languages, including French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and simplified Chinese.

An update coming in April, likely as part of iOS 18.4, will also bring localized English support for users in India and Singapore, said Cook. Apple Intelligence is currently limited to English-speaking regions including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and South Africa.

During the earnings call, Cook expressed his belief in the importance of Apple Intelligence features, noting that "once you start using the features you can't imagine not using them anymore." He specifically mentioned the email summarization function as a particularly valuable tool, stating that he personally relies on it to manage hundreds of daily emails.

Several Apple Intelligence features have been available since the release of iOS 18.1, but its limited language support has restricted its global reach.

Great, Apple has not yet reached an agreement on the use of Apple Intelligence in the EU, but it is introducing European languages for its use….
It is coming the EU by than… if you read the new bulletin on the Apple website, it states;

  • Mac users in the EU can access Apple Intelligence when using a compatible device with supported settings and languages. This April, Apple Intelligence features will start to roll out to iPhone and iPad users in the EU. This will include many of the core features of Apple Intelligence, including Writing Tools, Genmoji, a redesigned Siri with richer language understanding, ChatGPT integration, and more.

Even when it comes to EU in April, it won't mean much, as it works only in english. Apple still treats smaller countries as markets not worth investing in.
What are you all even talking about lol.

Apple Intelligence launches in the EU in April. And 8 new languages mentioned in the article are also coming in April. It will not be English-only.

No one from the company ever officially said that DMA was a problem. It's more Apple's inability to work on several fronts at once, and that users who don't speak English have historically been indifferent to them. Being able to filter out excuses, why would they work on adding more languages as soon as possible?
Apple was late and continues to struggle in the field of AI. Its AI functions seem like a toy compared to the competition.

Maybe I misunderstood it, but I thought that, for now, 18.4 was bringing Apple Intelligence to localized English customers in India and Singapore. And that support for Spanish, French, German, Italian… was coming “soon” but wasn’t specified.

But I’m happy if Apple Intelligence is coming to other languages.

They absolutely said it was because of the DMA.

Which makes sense, given how the DMA says Apple has to provide third party access to any system feature.

and of course, Switzerland will be left out. Because.
Not part of Europe^H^H^H^H^Hthe EU, therefore not worthy.

und ier müend gar nöd cho mit "aber ich will das doch eh nöd"
