That’s literary the only good feature of Apple intelligence. It’s so bad it’s comical. There is no reason to keep it on now.

On a related issue, I managed to turn off the annoying, and sometimes misleading, AI-generated search results in Google using a custom rule in AdGuard for Safari. Not only does it get rid of the AI nonsense, my search results load much faster too!
Thanks for sharing this. I was wondering if turning it off were possible when I got the below “advice” earlier today. Maybe Google AI can help me find the coffeemaker that triples the amount of coffee you feed it in the process of brewing the espresso. Then I would just give it 2-3 grams to make an “Industry standard” single espresso and save money that way.

I definitely can see how summarizing some short notifications, into a sliiiiightly shorter notification (which may be less accurate/entirely untrue), and then adding a disclaimer to extend the notification back to its original length, will really optimize my workflows. :)

You see, since it's not released yet... you cannot say something about apple intelligence !

Here's the rules I used in AdGuard settings -> Filters -> User Rules:

google.com###B2Jtyd
google.com###m-x-content

(not actually sure if they are both necessary, but this has been working great for a week or so)

I found them by using the "block an element" button after navigating to the search results page, then adjusting the min/max slider until it had more or less the part of the results page that I wanted to block.

Sometimes the summaries are very accurate and helpful. Oftentimes, they are confusing or wrong. It’s not ready for prime time. I do understand rolling the feature out, but this should have been in beta for longer, and by beta, I mean actual beta. Not something marketed as a groundbreaking feature to the masses. When I see Snoop Dogg on a T-Mobile commercial highlighting Apple Intelligence, that’s not what I traditionally consider to be a product in beta, whether they claim it is or not.

What is the point of summarizing something that is already summarized?
In theory this would be really useful to reverse the rise of clickbait headlines and quickly show the user the (usually underwhelming) one line summary of the story that the author/publisher made you read through 2 pages of waffle (and a ton of ads) to get to.

I’m in the Never AI camp and am doing my best to turn it off on my 15pro. I had to open the settings on every app and turn off the Learn from this App switch. It’s everywhere on the phone. AI? What could go wrong o_O
