So, putting this together with the YouTube onTV news ... I reckon they have also developed the user interface further so you can:
- Search using text for YouTube vids
- Buy films (movies) right from your sofa (couch)
I hope this means HD content is coming. I will buy 24 Season 6 in HD on iTunes the minute it becomes available.
That early adopters get screwed again...
Usually I don't car to much about this kinda stuff, but didn't i literally JUST buy this like 2 months ago? and now there is one that has x4 the storage for 1/4 more the price?
Not cool
I got to admit as an AppleTV owner for 3 days, I am kinda pissed.
How tough is it to upgrade? I mean opening the box is no big deal, but what about the additional hardware to format the new drive? Can that be purchased for cheap? Or do i need a $50 investment to format my $110 160 drive to hack my Apple TV

Boy am I excited now. Thanks to this upgrade I can still spend just as much money as those windows folks do on their xBoxes and get a fraction of the functionality! Sure, the user interface is elegant and slow, but the real winning feature for me is that microscopic, semi-useless remote that I can never find. Now that version 1.1 is out I'll continue to wait for version 3.0 before I think about purchasing it. Thanks to all the version 1.0 adopters for helping Apple develop something I'm interested in buying!

Do you really expect the technology industry to stand still? It came out months ago...and its about time for an extra incentive for people to buy...
Precisely. Some people seem to lack the ability to grasp onto the important concepts of business & technology and their nature.
Those are 3.5" hard drives. Apple TV is 2.5". I just paid $100 for a 160GB drive for my MacBook.
So its not for you (its not for me either) but its great for people in Apple's target market, and a lot of people love theirs...

I don't expect it to stand still at all, BUT at the same time, this is clearly something that easily could have been implemented in REV A.
Yes, i know i chose to purchase it, it just seems like its a little quick (at least to me) for a newer one to be out
hey guys,
i was wondering whether you can use the USB port on this to hook up to an Apple Airport base station and use it as a shared drive? This could then serve 2 purposes... 160gb of shared music and media from anywhere in the house, includng your tv!
Thanks
