Don't forget Apple will get a 30% increase in the price increases too.Surely this is just going to lead to devs increasing prices, hiding it behind a lower monthly fee.

Huh that didn't exist before? Like a annual YouTube Premium subscription is already cheaper than paying monthly. Same with Disney+. Don't get it.
But I'm already setting up a GoFundMe donations page for Apple to afford higher RAM prices! 😩Don't forget Apple will get a 30% increase in the price increases too.
Guess I'm becoming a luddite, but I've basically stopped using the App Store at all. I'd be fine with just the default apps at this point. Chances are, you're paying for some vibe coded slop that actually provides negative value instead of enriching your life.
if developers can get away with raising the annual price in plain sight, then they would just as easily get away with raising the price without introducing this subscription option. so there's no difference. y'all love to lose your minds over everything apple does and find some way to make it bad.🤣 I like your optimism. I don't share it though!
"Don't look at that big number over there... look at this smaller one here!"
We'll see.
The best thing is, you don’t have to subscribe to anything, but maybe others would want toJust what we need. More subscriptions. Not.

So like an annual plan but you don't pay it all at once. I guess it makes sense for people with a small income, otherwise I rather pay something once a year and be done with it.You sign up for a year, but you pay monthly. It's a contract.
Well, to be fair this isn't adding more subscriptions but rather more way to pay whatever subscriptions there are.
Yeah, thanks for leaving the USA out of this. Idiot.Just what I always wanted. Thanks Tim Apple
People can complain all they want but it’s making them money and that’s not going to stopNo one should really be surprised by this move. Apple wants to monetize everything!
And that's why Adobe lost me. I switched from Lightroom to DXO PhotoLab years ago and I'm not missing LR. Currently I'm looking for an alternative to Topaz software because last year they switched to subscriptions too.So the same system Adobe uses. Yeah, not going to use this.
Apple isn't forcing anyone into a monthly subscription contract.Honestly preferred the "pay for a full year" option. Even though it's not actually much different in theory, there's something about the idea of being forced into monthly subscription contract that is very unappealing.
I’m surprised this didn’t already exist. Are they ever going to offer upgrade pricing?they’re introducing the options to pay for annual plans with monthly installments. it’s so ridiculously straightforward i can’t even figure out how you’re confused about that.
If you choose that option, it sounds like you are indeed entering a contract where you are forced to pay something monthly. It's nice to have options, but I personally don't want to get into contracts like that with apps.Apple isn't forcing anyone into a monthly subscription contract.
Before, it would have been $10 a month or $100 annually today. Now it is $10 a month or $100 billed as $8.33 a month with a 12 month commitment. You pay either $10 or $8.33 today.Huh that didn't exist before? Like a annual YouTube Premium subscription is already cheaper than paying monthly. Same with Disney+. Don't get it.
No. It's adding that as an OPTION. Previously subscriptions were monthly with some offering a single payment for a year. This option ADDED to those lets you do the same yearly subscription (which gives a small savings per year over monthly) but lets you pay it off in monthly installments. It's adding more subscription *payments* that need to be settled each month, with the added annoyance of having to pay for a year, even if you choose to cancel early.
Not necessarily because most likely you can cancel the 12 month commitment and then the app stops working at the end of that month. Also it's up to the developer if they want to offer a 12 month commitment or not.If you choose that option, it sounds like you are indeed entering a contract where you are forced to pay something monthly. It's nice to have options, but I personally don't want to get into contracts like that with apps.
