Apple today updated its lineup of silicone iPhone cases and Apple Watch Sport Bands in three summer colors, including Peach, Marine Green, and Sky Blue.

The three new colors are available for both 38 and 42mm Apple Watch Sport Bands, with pricing the same as other Sport Bands ($49).

Apple has also released silicone cases for the iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus in the new colors, with the cases also suitable for the iPhone 7 lineup. The new silicone cases are priced at $39 for iPhone X, $39 for iPhone 8 Plus, and $39 for iPhone 8.

Apple has not provided leather iPhone cases in new colors, nor has the company introduced iPad cases in the new summer shades. There are also no other new watch bands, with the exception of the Pride watch band.

The Pride watch band is a new version of last year's Pride band, using Apple's Woven Nylon band in a series of rainbow colors. Apple has also introduced a matching watch face that's available today in watchOS 4. The Pride watch band is available for $49 and can be ordered starting today.

The peach colored case looks nice. Really wanted orange to make a comeback since nanochromatic.

The pride watch band looks good without the pride tag, but now I can see some groups, especially in some regions, targeting people with those bands based on their assumptions. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Hmm because they don't have the infrastructure to manufacture complex electronic devices?
I don’t think someone decided to sell iPhone cases BECAUSE they cannot manufacture phones.
Phone accessories carry huge margins, especially the ones for iPhones. Going back to the comment I replied to, I suggested that accessories do make good profits.

Does Apple even have iPad cases? I think they only have crap covers these days. I miss the old leather cases and would pay quite a bit to get one for my 10.5” iPad Pro. Third party cases aren’t doing it for me. The black leather Apple iPad case I had on my Air 2 was perfect.

It’s a valid concern, but that’s also kinda the point of the Pride symbol — saying that you’re brave enough to be open about your sexuality, regardless of the consequences.

Of course, some regions require significantly more bravery than others, but those are also the places where that bravery is needed the most.

Wearing the pride isn’t just about someone’s own sexuality but also about respecting the sexuality of others...

Like the product red accessories... don’t mean you have to be hiv pos but supporting openly research, cure and people dealing with it.

Yep, you’re totally correct, clumsy wording on my part there. I should have said something like “brave enough to openly support the LGBT+ family”. I’ve definitely got a *lot* of love and respect for all the straight allies out there.

In theory, accessories do have more margins percentage wise. Why do you think everyone is selling iPhone cases and screen protectors?

Yes. That’s why they put all the engineering power of Macs to find now the proper color of watch bands

We are now three years into the Apple Watch. Apple makes amazing looking bands. Why are they still selling only three in XL sizes? They sell the Sport Band in 16 colors, 2 of which are available in L/XL (black and white). They sell the Sport Loop in 9 colors, 1 of which is available in L (black).

What possible reason would they have to not sell the other colors in the larger sizes? I'm not asking them to stock them at all of their stores in all colors, but they're telling me that they can't sell them through their website? I have yet to buy an Apple Watch and one of the main things preventing that is that I would have limited choice of bands.

Based on the way they market the bands, they realize how important they are to the overall Watch revenue. Why are they leaving so much money on the table?

I would think the answer to your question would be obvious. They don’t sell enough XL bands for it to be worth manufacturing. Same reason they don’t sell the MacBook Pro in the same number of colors as the MacBook.

If ones wrist is over 3/4 of a foot in diameter they either need to seriously lose weight or they’re a body builder.

It sure would be nice if they introduced an equal amount of bands that would appeal across a greater market segment. It seems like band introduction falls primarily to one market segment.
