I'm amazed people buy first party Apple cases and bands

It's all such an incredible rip off

I don't get it either.

I have two genuine Apple Watch bands; the one that came with my Series 3 and the other that came with my Series 6. I ordered a mess of silicone knock-offs when I got the Series 3 and have been using them since. Every single one has held up fine, and they cost >$3/band.

Apple's cases have always sucked.

Agreed

I have iPhone cases off eBay & Ali that I've had side by side with one OEM one I have (silicone for Mini 13) and I swear they come off the same production line

I think Apple makes BANK ... like SUPER BANK ... on the cases & bands

Silicon case is $50 ($44 if you can get a discount through your company) and the copies on Amazon will cost you, what, $10-15 bucks...and won't hold up as well. $35 bucks more for the Apple product and warranty.
With you on this. The Amazon ones are loose around the edges and almost all have a cutout for the camera control button. I always use Apple cases.

Literally variants of pistachio and bright orange. This is just becoming a god damn joke. Can’t get black? No white? (Braided solo loop)…

I could not agree with you more turbineseaplane. Don't get me wrong, I have, use and like a number of Apple products, such as the 1st watch ultra, and I can also more than afford these products, but I'd never buy an original apple case or band in a million years, as Apple are just blatantly taking the pi.ss out of their loyal customers at the prices they charge. If people stop buying them, then I'm sure Apple would reduce the price.

I have over 270+ official Apple branded bands for my watches. I buy Apple for the quality... my first experience with a third party was bad. It was rubbery and tacky, felt flimsy and cheap, and the pin fell off after only a week.

Apple's band are durable, soft to the touch, have a thick and heavy feel to them, and are built super well... precise machining around the lugs, milled stainless pins pressed in with a washer molded into the FKM, and the high quality plastic bumpers to provide a smooth insert and click.

Have third party bands improved since my experience? probably.
Would third party bands work for the majority of people? i'd believe it.

However, I go for top quality, and don't want to trust my $700 watch with a $5 band.

Granted, I almost never buy direct from Apple. The prices are fair, i feel, but I still don't pay them if I can avoid it. If I really like a color, I'll wait until next season, and I'll go for an eBay discount or some other liquidation. TJ Maxx has been selling $99 Ultra trail loops for $16. Some colors are worth buying used, because they wash up nicely and discontinued colors of the past are pretty rare now.

That's another thing you get buying from Apple... they hold enough value that selling it later is viable. You can buy $5 fakes all day, but you go to sell them, you're lucky to get $5 for a lot of 30+. Apple's bands, however, still sell for $15-30 used if the color is desirable to a collector like me. There are some discontinued colors out there worth into the hundreds. Someone who decided to spend that $49 back in 2017 on a flash sport band could still find a buyer to take a used one around the same price. If they bought a Blue Orbit/Gamma Blue Nike Sport Band, they could flip it for a profit now.

My two cents.

I wish Apple would update the regular 3 styles of Ultra bands more than once per year. I guess they don't want our money?

So the Lake Green band goes to Sage and all I can see different is the name? Looks exactly the same...

Seriously, get yourself checked for color blindness. This is not a joke. I have a buddy who was color blind for a long time and didn't realize it, and specifically had trouble with greens where they all looked kinda muted like the new Sage Green one. But the Lake Green one is much more saturated, maybe a touch darker, and has some more blue in it. Are they majorly different? No. But can the average color sighted person tell them apart? Easily.

why won't they hold up as well? I have cheap silicon bands from Amazon I've had for years that fit great, come in way more variety of styles and weather anything... I also have an apple silicon band from my series 5 that for some reason barely fits my series 9 and needs to be like forced in. If they sold the watches without bands for less I would always choose no band

Was hoping for a new colour option in the beats iPhone case. These cases are great! Much better than the silicone ones.

It's nice, very youthful, 90s vibe colors. No one should ever buy iPhone covers made by Apple, though. They are piss-poor quality.

See, my experience is the opposite. Purchased the $10 case off Amazon a few years back. Was a color Apple didn't offer. Put it on my iPhone. It didn't fit right, and after three weeks, the outside was wearing and the lining pealed away from the silicon. Contacted Amazon/Seller and was basically told "sorry, nothing we can do"

I cant speak to watch bands and there durability because I never ordered one.

I really like these new colors. Debating which one to get for my 16 Plus Ultramarine. I think the purple one or the minty green one.

the watch bands I've had are all fine. I'd never even think to buy a phone case from apple as the third party ones are better across the board, you must have gotten some Chinese knockoff one. Cases from reputable companies like spigen or casetify are always perfect and hold up way better than apples.

New colors!
