I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see our family ever watching anything produced by Apple.

Apple is about control, political correctness, far left ideology, firm hand, lack of free speech, and for what is left, only if it is provably popular in Apple's view. This Apple DNA is the death of creative, new, and ground breaking inspiration.

I'm sure it will be a GoT'ish type product, except everyone will be "people of color" and of course LBGTQODEWPDNWAZCJR..........

Close; you have the SJW part right, but do you know how much the CGI costs for GoT? Timmy the bean counter won't approve of that. He'll do the CGI himself on an iPad pro. The dragons will look like they were hand drawn by a child with crayons.

And think of how many times he'll be able to call it "magical" at the next keynote.

So I fail to see where you have any basis on portraying Apples subscription pricing as price gouging in any way. Quite the opposite in fact. Apple makes their margin on products, while services are meant to value propositions to entice customers to buy Apple devices.

Where did I say gouge?

And you might want to look into whether Apple makes it's margin or not on that Apple music subscription. Then, you might want to look into the Netflix margin vs. the Apple margin and think about whether the hypothetical purchase of Netflix would likely result in leaving Netflix pricing as is. It's not hard to do.

There's no attack on Apple there- just an attack on the idea that Apple would buy Netflix and leave pricing "as is."

But, believe what you wish.

"an origin series for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest focused on Nurse Ratched"

Not shedding too many tears for that one... I'm having trouble imaging something I want to watch less.

"Hey, remember that character you vaguely recall and totally hate? Now there's a whole series about her!"

I'm hearing pitches for the backstory on the owners of Bate's Motel before Norman & his Mom purchase it.

I'm hearing pitches for the backstory of the backstory of the prior, prior owners of Bate's Motel.

I'm hearing pitches for the backstory of the backstory of the backstory...

I've heard there's a kind of mythbusters-like program being pitched exploring concepts in real-time of what it is really like waiting for paint to actually dry.

I'm also hearing about a lengthy miniseries on a science-based prequel to life on earth. Apparently, it's countless hours of camera work focused on some rocks surrounding a pool of liquid in which some carbon compounds are suspended. Apparently the plan is to show the day-to-day events of that pool until around episode 250 when some catalyst finally blends some fundamental chemistry together that may be considered the origin of life on earth.

Also I'm hearing about a backstory about the rocks in that prequel.

And a backstory about the lava that becomes those rocks in a pre-prequel.

Man, I can barely wait!

All ;)

Let's see your genius show idea then, Sparky.
Trump is more successful than I will ever be. Does that mean I don't have the right to criticize him?
Do I have to make a Star Wars movie before I can share my opinion on George Lucas?
Do I need more posts than you before you listen to my opinion?

There is a difference between crapping on what someone worked hard on and became successful with and comparing yourself to Trump.

He is an awful President but you can't deny that he was successful at being a personality on TV. You can crap on him as a President but you literally have nothing to say about him playing the lead character on The Apprentice or Mark Burnett for creating it.

I don't watch CK but I also don't crap on it. You and your ilk are the same "fan-droids" that crap on Apple products and call any person who owns an iPhone "Sheeple" because it has an Apple logo not because you actually disagree with the tech. The same in every way. I also don't crap on Android phones or people who use them. I'm sure you do cause you're an awful person.

You're the same as a Trump supporter that calls every person that disagrees with them a "Snowflake". The exact same and I'm sick and tired of it.

Go do something useful in you life instead of crapping on what anyone else is doing just because you disagree with it.

I have better things to do honestly with my time that mean a lot more then rubbish entertainment.

Not too much time to comment on it though. Go do something useful for a change.

Oh Apple wants things like Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad? I bet HBO, Amazon, Netlfix and all the other networks just want crappy little shows.

Its hard to know whats going to succeed and when its going to succeed. Good luck to them entering this market.

But this is Apple. They can charge twice as much for bandwidth as anyone else and the faithful will line up to subscribe.

Have you seen the threads like what's $10/month extra for iPhone X, for the pure Nirvana of owning the one true phone to rule them all? Same logic, what's $30/month extra for the bliss of connecting your one true phone to the one true network?

And what red tape? Apple just has to say they're thinking of putting a data center in the municipality and all the red tape will disappear along with property taxes.

Look at the value prop. If Apple came in and took over the existing lines, cut out all the nonsense and consolidated things operationally, and then said “look at how much better the service level is with us than with Comcast. It’ll cost $20 more a month but isn’t a complete nightmare. Oh and you get AppleTV instead of that stupid box, and you also get to use whatever streaming services you choose, BYOD, and we will NOT play data sharing games with the FCC” do you think frustrated consumers wouldn’t flock to it?

As for the red tape, what’s to build? They would be buying a network that’s in place, and they have the money to invest in a legitimately decent infrastructure. Heck they could offer it as a joint venture to Google and Google would probably consider it just as revenge against the red tape, Comcast, and AT&T.

Also remember that Comcast is pretty much the most hated company in the nation by a mile.

It'll be fun to see what the US looks like 30 years from now, when the entire US economy is based on ad revenue of people showing each other their YouTube videos. ...Ads for other videos.

"As we peer into society's future, we -- you and I, and our government -- must avoid the impulse to live only for today, plundering for our own ease and convenience the precious resources of tomorrow. We cannot mortgage the material assets of our grandchildren without risking the loss also of their political and spiritual heritage. We want democracy to survive for all generations to come, not to become the insolvent phantom of tomorrow."
-Dwight D. Eisenhower

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
