Widget should be useful. However I have not yet downloaded the app and used it. Will definitely give it a try now.

Tried it, created a new event for the 9th, even added the Event Logo... Displays fine within the Invites App, but shows up blank on the widget ... 🤦‍♂️

Correct I will try this to check if it can replace my countdown app (subscription required)
Update It works fine. It will be hard to justify the 3rd party 5$ a year app. They have sherklocked another app type. If only they let manually add packages codes in to wallet tracking...

Yeah I tried the same. I think they just made an event themselves and used that. I was looking on Apple’s site for a link and didn’t anything there either.
Well, it’s an app for events you’re invited to, so… it’s not really meant to track the countdown of events you’re interested in

Apple today updated the Apple Invites app, introducing a new widget that can be added to the Home Screen. Apple says that the widget can be used to count down to your next event.

After updating to the latest version of the Apple Invites app, you can add the new widget to your Home Screen by long pressing, tapping on Edit, and then choosing the "Add Widget" option.

There are three widget sizes, including small, medium, and large. The widgets are all the same, and are designed to tell you how many days there are remaining until an upcoming event.

Tapping on a created event opens up the Invites app where you can see more information about it.

Apple introduced the Invites app back in February, and it has received a few updates since then. Invites is an event planning app that supports creating custom invitations with unique background images, fonts, and relevant information like directions and weather.

Invites is free to download, but it is an iCloud+ service, which means an iCloud+ subscription is needed to create an event. iCloud+ is Apple's paid iCloud storage upgrade option, with plans starting at $0.99 per month.

The Invites app can be downloaded from the App Store for free. [Direct Link]

All of apple's "creative" apps are basically the same thing...the same creative tools with the insane crayon options.. I feel apple's software ideas are lame.. no real innovation in decades.... sad

You have to uninstall the app and than install it again.
Didnt work for me but now it does…
Excuse me for saying that, but that's like 90s Microsoft software quality 😂

There was a time when Apple's userbase would have revolted against something this buggy.

It’s a great app! I used it to arrange my wedding suit fitting with my grooms men. All worked smoothly, allowing all participants to comment etc. Feel this app needs to be more advertised by Apple though! People are missing out on this.
