Update: The new Apple Invites app has officially been announced.

The main iCloud.com page has seemingly confirmed Apple's rumored invites tool, which has yet to be officially announced by the company.

The page says "Apple Invites" will be an iCloud+ feature:
Upgrade to iCloud+ to get more storage, plan events with Apple Invites, and have peace of mind with privacy features like iCloud Private Relay, Hide My Email, and HomeKit Secure Video.
iCloud+ is essentially Apple's name for paid iCloud storage plans, which start at $0.99 per month in the United States. Apple includes some additional perks with iCloud+ plans at no additional cost, such as iCloud Private Relay and HomeKit Secure Video, and it seems that Apple Invites is the newest perk that is set to be offered.

Apple Invites will be available on the web at iCloud.com/invites, and a new Apple Invites app for the iPhone and other devices is also likely.

Apple Invites will help users to organize birthday parties and other events, according to the page description for iCloud.com/invites:
Create online party invitations - for birthdays, graduations, baby showers & more. Track RSVPs, create shared albums, and send instantly by email or text.
iCloud+ subscribers will get full access to Apple Invites, with no ads, additional costs, or limits on the amount of events they can host.

Apple Invites will integrate with Apple Music, Apple Maps, Photos, and more.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple Invites could be announced as early as this week.

my main question is why i can do this from every other app in existence and apple finally brings it like calculator to their cloud solution. outlook is still king, even on a mac or iphone or ipad. and i use mimestream for the rest, which is just phenomenal. it is nice to finally see so i can schedule facetimes with my family and they can be reminded since i live away from home. time zomes are difficult to handle sometimes

Not sure how this will differ from calendar invite's but I'll definitely take a look at it. More instead in seeing if there will be be a price drop on the 12tb of iCloud storage.

I am not sure what this new service will do exactly, but what you are describing is already available in Apple Calendar, unless I am missing something?

it is. so i am wondering what this is exactly too. you can schedule a facetime so i wonder what they mean by inviting. maybe they have a collaborative app like teams or slack?

They won't do that because then'd a number of us would ditch mac for a gaming computer.
Personally I've ditched gaming pc's since the M2. I'm at the point that if a game wants me to play/buy, they will port it to the Mac. If not my Xbox will do just fine. Game sales are declining and you may attribute it to lack of innovation in AAA games, increase in micro-transactions, lower overall entertainment or in my opinion lack of options on devices consumers want to play on. This is becoming more and more alarming for the gaming industry and even more so for the entertainment industry as a whole. Over that last few years, we Americans are spending more and more time at home and less time doing away-from-home activities. Ironically the largest drop is in shopping, both grocery and luxury.

I don‘t see how this is going to put a dent into any other meeting / event planning platform or be useful at all for bigger gatherings. It‘ll probably be Apple exclusive, which just does not work for the vast majority of the world.

Hope it does at least have bare minimum cross-platform compatibility.

It will probably be a simple dumbed down solution for john Q public.... So the mom who is planning her son's birthday or someone planning a baby shower, a friend's get together, etc..... Something easy to access, simple to use that is built in if you already have an iphone, ipad or mac... you dont have to download any apps, go to a website or create any account with a service.

As someone who uses Apple Calendar on all my devices this sounds like a useful addition.

I’m very much in favour of Apple adding functionality to their own free apps as I have too many app subscriptions.

Yep, kinda cringy, but I'm afraid it's already a virtual noun because it's so commonly used this way.
Pff, just because the whole English speaking world accepts it doesn't mean I have to!

Why, if you let people get away with that, they'll start saying "less" when they mean "fewer", and then where would we be?!
