What are the benefits for getting the iOS developer program? I need to convince some people to buy it. Thanks in advance.

So joined the developer program last night, got my activation code and got the message, we can't verify you, you need to contact us (of course they were closed for the weekend). I need to now provide them with a notarized copy of my ID. Is this standard operating procedure?

This same thing happened to me last night as well. I did some googling and I've learned it can be a few different reasons. One reason people get this error is because the credit card they use isn't theirs, they borrow it. So the CC information doesn't match your Apple account information. Another reason (which is the problem I am having), is some credit card companies will use your last name first and first name last, so then when Apple compares it doesn't match either. I'm personally pretty annoyed at the fact that I have to go pay $30 to get my information notarized all because my credit card company reverses the names. Obviously apple can see that everything matches except the names are reversed.

Some people have been able to avoid the notarization step by contacting Apple and talking to them on the phone. Search this forum and you'll find others that have talked about this.
