I wouldn't dump a device just because you have a feeling the glass feels cheap and springy. The iPad Air is the lightest iPad and the glass was thinner to help this. It doesn't affect the way the device is used I can assure you.

I noticed that the screen on the screen on the new Air feels "springy" and "cheap". The Ipad 4 and prior generation screens felt "solid". When you tap on the new Air screen it feels like it is hollow (springy effect) below where as the prior generation ipads when you tap on the screen if feels solid (solid glass like). Obviously the screen is new and lighter, but damn I am not happy with it. Also does not feel as "smooth" when gliding finger over it. Like the reduced size, but would rather have the same glass screen as the prior Ipad generations. Should have kept my Ipad4.

How do you "feel" about the overall "performance" of the "tablet"? Would you "say" that you're "happy" with it?

I think this "problem" will (partially) be solved when the new iPad Air 2 is introduced. From the leaked pictures we saw it seems that the LCD screen of this device and the glass will be integrated into one unit. Apple would not allow the glass to be "springy" when there is a display behind it given that it might damage the display. :)

I noticed the same thing. I have an iPad 3 and when I use my friend's Air the screen does feel cheap. Also, the speaker makes the whole iPad vibrate on the Air, the 3 doesn't do that (again feels cheap).
