Thanks for that tip..I'm definitely going to try it out. The benefits of the case out weigh the cons (really the only con is that it gets dirty so quickly).

As an update, the tip about 303 Protectant is a great one; it's even better than Armor All at keeping the Apple case clean. I picked up a small bottle on the 'Bay and it's good stuff.

Nu Vinyl works good also. I got some a Ace Hardware. No gloss or residue, and it repels the dust.

I'm not sure why Apple didn't treat these with something to improve them. It seems to be easy to do. The texture of the rubber is a detritus magnet.

I bought the official black apple case, and regretted it, its almost impossible to get it out if you wanted to, and I couldn't make heads or tails of it, it was clearly designed to stand up in some configuration, but there wasn't any obvious way to set it up, and using it was awkward with the case on.

While you would expect a certain level of "pickiness" from those of us who frequent Macrumors, it is interesting to see how others who are less "involved" react to the Apple case.

I noticed at Thanksgiving that my brother had an Apple case on his iPad. I didn't say anything, but for Christmas I got him a Yoobao Magic case. We exchanged gifts last night, and his eyes lit up when he saw the Yoobao.

He started saying how much he HATED the Apple case...and without prompting brought up all the same complaints that many of us on here have...impossible to keep clean, difficult to remove, doesn't seem to "work" right...

It was interesting to see this reaction from someone who knows nothing about Macrumors, etc.

I'm assuming that y'all are talking about the black one. Had it for 2 days and I hate it and it gets very dirty, plus it's not padded enough for me. You can see everything on that case, dirt, dusts, etc.

I have a few cases. I have the Magic case, and a few others.

I like the Apple case if it's treated with protectant to keep the dust off. It's most likely the lightest case made. It's also very cool looking.

It covers only part of the bezel which is good. It's also not that difficult to remove if you do it a certain way: peal off the outer edge ( down ) , and just push the ipad out- fingers against metal ; (instead of reaching in and trying to pull it out, which would be a drag (literally :D )

My favorite case is the Chinao, which is exactly like the Apple case except the material is a little different, although the Apple case is just a s good, and I also use that.

The Magic case is really nice but it must weigh three times what the Apple case weighs.

One case that didn't work at all for me was the Yoobao slim case. I had a hard time removing it; (a really hard time). Perhaps I didn't discover some trick to do this, (someone mentioned pushing from the bottom).

(Just MHO :D )

BTW Merry ! :D

No, sorry it's 'Chinao' not Chicano.

Try Armor-All type products (Vinyl/rubber treatment). You will have to call around perhaps, but you have stuff like that. Automotive (retail) supply stores are a good bet.

Chinao looks good. Seems a suite material inside and a leather outside.
