In the event you are having connection issues with charging or you are having difficulty charging. I ran into this issue and Apple said the port needed to be replaced for 75.00 through Sprint. Before I forked out this amount, I decided to youtube my issue to see if I can fix it myself. In one of the comments for the video it said to take a pin or paper clip and clean out the lint. Well I pulled out so much lint I could have made a small sock for my dog.

If you are keeping you phone in your pocket you need to check it for lint ever so often. It will get in at the charger port and earphone hole.

Pockets are kinda nasty.😉

My iPhone 5 rides in my side pocket upside down (charging port up, power button down). The bottom half of my phone pokes out of the side pocket about a quarter inch.

Never had this problem.
