Currently have an iPhone XS and wondering if people think it’s better to trade in my iPhone and go with the Apple iPhone Payments loan or sell it on swappa and get on the iPhone upgrade program.

I upgrade my phone every year , so the iup works better for me. I don’t want to bother with swappa or Craigslist. Are you going to keep the upgrade past one year? Then do the payments. If not do the iup.
Yup, that's where I'm at. I'm tired of the whole after market selling stuff. I'll just swap out every year as necessary.

I think this will be my 4th phone on the upgrade program. Absolutely love it and do not miss having to deal with selling my old phone or paying early upgrade fees on two year phone contracts.

all of this, I’m so glad to finally be on the iUP and not have to worry about lowball offers scammers and meeting up with strangers.

I upgrade every year but it’s tricky to now convert to the iPhone upgrade program because they don’t offer the trade in with it. I think I’ll sign up for the iUP and then sell my xs.

Hello! I'm confused. I am a new to the IUP. I currently have an iPhone XS Max 64GB that is paid in full. Apple if offering $600 for my device. Can I not be in the IUP if I trade in my phone for a $600 credit? On the Pre-Approval app, it only mentions payments for 24 months. Can I not pay it off in full? Also, I read that the iPhone Payments financing option does not include AppleCare+, while the iPhone Upgrade Program does. What is the difference? And how do I get AppleCare+ included? Does included mean that I don't pay for it?

Thank you all for helping this IUP newbie out!

Let me try to answer your questions.

The only way to trade in your phone then enroll into the IUP is: go to the Apple store, tell them that you want to trade in your old phone and use the money to buy a new iPhone, then select IUP. If you want to do it online, you can only trade in for a gift card and use it later. You can’t trade in for money and deduct the total amount for IUP.

If you want to trade in for money instantly, choose iPhone payment plan(or whatever it’s called.) I will choose this option because I have a iPhone XS Max that I want to trade in.

IUP program includes AppleCare+ so you don’t need to buy it separately. But the whole price you gonna pay is the phone+$199 AppleCare+. You won’t save money but you can save time for don’t need to call Apple to get the refund for the unused AppleCare+ on your old phone.

[doublepost=1568351146][/doublepost]However. The trade in option is only worth when you got a base model.

For example, I spent around $550 to pay off my 64g iPhone XS Max and I can trade in for $600.

If you buy a higher end model like 256g or 512g, it may not be worth. I would suggest to go to store and to trade in and enroll IUP. But on first several days there maybe no stock in store.
