I have the original iPhone X and with the upcoming release of the iPhone XS Battery cases from Apple next week I heard that they work with the iPhone X right? They also have an XR battery case coming next week(why though? Isn’t the Xs and Xr identical in shape?
which one should I buy for my original iPhone X? The Xr or Xs Version of the battery case?

If you buy, please share your experience. I want to know whether it work.

[doublepost=1547832773][/doublepost]I just got my iPhone xs battery case for my iPhone X and it works fine and fits fine
[doublepost=1547832828][/doublepost]I am on ver. 12.1.2

Would have to be the XS model as it's the same exact design (minor difference the camera location, but fits fine, and of course the speaker holes on the bottom).

Somone on the Apple website just answered the following reply to a fellow member’s question on the website which was essentially the same question I asked in this thread which was whether the XS case will work with the original iPhone X and this was his reply: (see attachment for screenshot)

He claims the speaker and microphone placement ports of the iPhone XS differs from that of the original iPhone X hence the case will make phone calls etc sound muffled and cause issues, is that correct? I was under the impression the original iPhone X and the XS were IDENTICAL in shape, ports, speaker holes etc

Quick update for you all, I went to the Apple store yesterday and they had these cases in stock so I bought one to try in the store and worst case I’d return it right there and then if it didn’t work. It DOES work with the original X, I plugged it in and it recognized right away that a smart battery case was connected, I ended up returning the case about 5 minutes after I tried it though. This new XS Battery case covers 2 microphone holes that are present on the original X entirely (Xs has 3 holes, X has 5 holes) so the mic performance during phone calls is affected, I guess I could use a micro drill and drill 2 additional holes in the case however the case is EXTREMELY bulky and the silicone finish feels extremely cheap and is a dust magnet compared to my apple leather case and I just couldn’t over look these facts so I didn’t end up Keeping the smart battery case. It would have been amazing if they made a leather version and if the case was slimmer because the case is really bulky and I did not like that.

I have the iPhone X and got the XS case and it is perfect. I love it, a bit bulky but to be expected.

Agreed. It maybe makes it a little more directional, like it comes more straight out of the phone because of the deep holes. But it’s definitely not muffled and nobody has complained on the phone when I talk to them.
