he's 1500 miles from the homepods and appleTVs, it's not so simple to just unplug them. You need to turn off the Apple TVs and reset the HomePods, only after re-adding them turn on again the Apple TVs.
It worked for me!

Yeah I was just confirming the Apple TV importance of when you add the HomePods again. They need to be off.Are you sure you’re reading what I wrote?
You said that your girlfriend lives in your house. Give her your Apple ID and password (You can change it later when everything is back up) As for the HomePods just unplug them after you’re logged out of YOUR ICLOUD ACCOUNT on all your device and before you reboot them. Reboot and plug them back in.How do you expect me to do this thousands of miles away?
and on the weekend tooI emailed Tim Cook. He forwarded it on and now on the phone with Apple with them calling me. They mentioned a fix is coming. Amazing customer service!! They’re calling me again in a few days to follow up with this new fix.
See the latest post 😃Like everyone told you on Reddit. It was a really bad idea to try to do this major of an update when youre so far away from home. Yeah it's bad that Apple's update didnt go as planned, but these HomePods are like 5 years old now. Everyone who owns them knows the updates have been a wild ride.
He doesn’t want to share his iCloud password with the girlfriend, and truth be told neither would I.You said that your girlfriend lives in your house. Exactly this. Never give out your password. He doesn’t want to share his iCloud password with the girlfriend, and truth be told neither would I.
Imagine having a girlfriend live in your spare home, yet be not willing to give her a credential that can easily be changed after the fact. Or being afraid of giving the credential to her at all.Exactly this. Never give out your password.
Imagine defending Apple for releasing a buggy update that broke someone’s HomeKit house and then telling said customer tough luck, you have to fly across seas to fix said bug.Imagine having a girlfriend live in your spare home, yet be not willing to give her a credential that can easily be changed after the fact. I normally don’t play troll on forums but it’s sort of absurd someone who has over 100 Apple devices in a spare home iirc doesn’t have the wherewithal to accept another solution. Or wants to complain about a 1.5K plane ticket (you don’t have to fly first class btw, a quick Google offered a ticket for $393, plus fees I’m sure)
Getting a call directly from Tim Cook really is the icing on the cake.
Sorry about your predicament. Hopefully you’ll consider some android or other third party option for your third home’s electronic needs.
I am still surprised that the really easy solution (NOT DEFENDING APPLE IN ANY WAY) that will 100% utterly and completely solve this SUPER IMPORTANT PROBLEM to you is not already done.Imagine defending Apple for releasing a buggy update that broke someone’s HomeKit house and then telling said customer tough luck, you have to fly across seas to fix said bug.
You’re being ridiculous. You should be able to share your password with your significant other - what happens if you die? Do you expect nobody to have access to anything pictures, documents, etc?Exactly this. Never give out your password.

Okay sure. Let’s victim blame here. Anything to defend Daddy Apple
I’m just jealous, I’m stuck switching my dad’s Apple Watch from his old iPhone to his new one.I mean, he has a point though, regardless of Apple's buggy garbage. You've got a pretty weird life-situation going on here 😅
I didn’t defend them at all. Sit and stew in your problem then.Okay sure. Let’s victim blame here. Anything to defend Daddy Apple
Or giving someone suggestions to resolve an issue and all they do is give reasons for not trying them.Imagine defending Apple for releasing a buggy update that broke someone’s HomeKit house and then telling said customer tough luck, you have to fly across seas to fix said bug.
