I was charged an extra ~$14 on an order by (Apple's) mistake. When I called to inquire, they looked into it, apologized, and said that they would actually refund me $20 to make things right. But, here is the email that I got from Apple:

Dear Apple Customer,

Thank you for contacting Apple.

At your request, Apple will issue a $999,999.99 credit and send it to
your credit-card company within five business days. Please contact your
credit-card company if you have questions about when the credit will be
posted to your account.

Sincerely,

Apple Online Store Team

Sweet. Now I can buy something reeeeeally nice! :p I'm sure the reimbursement won't actually go through that way, but I still thought it was amusing!

ROFL.

If the money is credited to your account, email sjobs@apple.com, they never read those things, then if the police knock at the door you can prove that you did tell Apple but they never responded :)

holy smokes~!! I wish Apple over charged me too  <gets out credit card and clicks on Apple Online Store, buy Apple socks> now over charge me!

Grimace: what are you going to do? Keep the money or tell them they made a mistake?

Or could it be some Apple employee is just effing around with you?

edit: They over charged you $14 but were gonna give you $20? And then they give you a million? I'm wondering if even the managers are authorized to approve such refunds, I mean how often does Apple reimburse even half that much money?

Or are you effing with us GrimacE?

Yeah, just put bad grammar in the subject and type a message like "hi jobz, u gave me a million dollars! haha kthxbai.".

If this does go through, you are one lucky person. Be glad you put your unwanted change in the tip jar. ;)

If you were a newbie I would cry foul so fast..... I don't know what to believe anymore!!

Well, I'm not :)

It isn't a rumor or some sort of product speculation, just an interesting typo. If I actually get credited the amount, I'll wait 60 days and buy MacRumors from Arn. :p

If you do get the money...will you buy me a new iPod?

As for Macrumors, i think its worth over a million...

Probably not, and it probably is!

$1M would show up on Apple's books pretty quickly so I don't give it much of a chance, but you never know what a company will do for a higher customer service rating! :)

You guys do know that it wasn't a typo, right? It's a form field that didn't get filled in properly. No telling how many of these actually went out; I'm sure that the OP is not the only one. Everybody makes mistakes.:p

No, I figured someone sat there and entered that number. ;) :p :D

I just used the term typo as an analogy. Maybe not a good one.

Now that you mention it, I wonder how many went out.
