What are we supposed to do with this 1 meter cable? After spending so much on these iPads, the least apple could do was throw in a 6 foot cable. I can’t even use this cable, it’s so short!

1m is the standard cable length (they have also produced 0.5m and 2m themselves) and they can’t please everyone.

Most will be happy to receive the braided cable vs the older version with their older devices, and would be very unimpressed if all of the charger, the cable and the Apple stickers were removed from the box, because then they’d get nothing more than the iPad and pamphlet (which will probably go before too long.)

As you clearly have a preference for the longer cable, perhaps the 1m would be useful to use with a power bank when on the go. If not, pass to a friend or a family member who is a fan of braided cables but doesn’t yet have one, so that it can be used (if you don’t plan to sell it eventually via CeX or similar that require a cable to be provided.)

I took one look at it and left it in the box! I use the 6’ long heavy duty charging cable from Apple that I charge my laptop with. I think it is good for 130 watts. The one the supply is a joke.

I love the braided 1m cable. So, much better than those old cables they used to provide. More flexible and I bet it lasts longer too. I also purchased a 2m braided cable too.

It's actually rated for 60W, so def enough for any ipad and it's nice they are braided now-a-days. 6 meters OP?! OMG, get a 30-100m extension cord instead so you really can walk around while plugged in! 😂
NO, I made an error. It is the Apple 240 watt, 2 meter long USB-C charging cable. :p

Over kill I know but it was used to charge my laptops so why buy another. The included is STILL a joke!

The braided cable would be nicer if they had the rubber tube that protects the cable entry on it. 1m is long enough for most people to charge. Otherwise get a sparky to pop some more sockets in.

The cable is fine by me, it’s the charging brick I don’t care for. The horizontal orientation is cumbersome for my setup, a six-receptacle block on the wall. Doesn’t quite fit. I’m getting rid of it once a couple of USB A to USB C cables come in and I can just use a standard USB A charging brick.

1.0 meter is the sweet spot for me when it comes to mobile devices. Anything longer just means you have a bunch of cable in the way.

When it comes to desktop cables though (like for a monitor), I do prefer 2 meters.

Some companies, like western digital, tend to provide 0.5 meter cables with their mobile products. Now those are completely unusable for me.

I would settle for 3m. lol
Why do you need such a long cable? Honestly 2m covers most cases - I have yet to see a use case that goes beyond that. Usually that just means using an extension cord instead, which is pretty uncommon and more likely an issue with furniture placement / not-so-great home layout of electrical sockets.

I charge on my nightstand and the braided cable literally does not reach the iPad. I’ve never had his issue before. My M1 iPad pro cable was double the size I believe, and I was able to use that. This is a pro level device, so we should be provided pro level accessories.

There really is a complaint thread for anything and everything these days. What next? Boxes too white? Phone too rectangular? Tim Cook's hair too grey?
Apple CAN do wrong you know. We are paying more and more each year and Apple is skimping on consumers, and you’re okay with that? This is a pro level device; don’t you think it warrants pro level accessories? At least give us an option to choose between 1-6 meters. I’d pay a nominal fee for a slightly longer cable. It should be the same for charging bricks. Allow us to choose whether or not we want/need one. Don’t just make the choice for us. I’m sure most people would pay an extra $5-10 for a brick for their new iPhone.

No I mean do you actually need a 6m or even 3m cable? I think it would be nice to include a 2m cable with the iPad Pro, but I really do think 3m+ is way overkill.

OP must mean a 6 foot cable right?

Who needs a 6 meter cable for an iPad!?!? Like what are you using a 6 meter cable for?

It is kind of a dinky little cable; personally I have so many USB-C cables at this point I don’t really care, but I did smirk a bit when I looked at it.

Might be useful for when I travel and want to plug in the keyboard in my hotel without unrolling one of my longer cables.

I'm happy with the braided cable! The new black one is way better suited for my car's interior.

I have a longer cable from my old MacBook that I use at home. Nobody's forcing you to use the one in the box. In fact, we should thank Tim he was even generous enough to pack one in there 😅
