Where are Movie Trailers? I updated and can see the new sports channels, but can't find the trailers.

It's under the 'In Theatres' sub-menu under Movies. It was there before but they seem to have given the interface a bit of a spruce up.

Thanks.

Is it its own menu item, or just the way trailers are presented after selecting individual movies?

"Software update: Addresses an issue that required a small number of Apple TV units to be connected to iTunes in order to complete the update."

Well, I guess in a way they did address the issue; instead of a small number, now a LARGE number of people have to connect to iTunes!

You're one of those "Malware vs. Virus" kind of guys, aren't you?

Thing is, unless you even know that it's possible to recover the Apple TV yourself (and connecting the Apple TV via USB to your PC isn't exactly "normal usage" like an iPhone or iPad), the device is as good as bricked.

Well um he might be, but this was pedantic. Using malware and virus as synonyms is simply wrong (and misleading). Viruses are malware, but all malware are not viruses. From a security and user perspective the difference is huge.

You coud argue that finding a micro-USB cable and connecting to iTunes is using specialized equipment nd procedure. The Appe TV does not include a USB cable, does not require iTunes and most users have never connected it to a computer. I believe you have to either contact support or go on the Internet to find the proper procedure.

My Apple TV is running 4.4 firmware, and it's working fine. Although NHL Gamecenter froze a couple times during the Habs/Sabres game last night. I don't know if there was a problem with the feed or a ATV/internet issue.

Your one of those, "cars are only as good as their tank of gas," kind of guys, aren't you?

Thing is, unless you even know that it's possible to refill the gas tank yourself, (and opening the fuel door and gas cap isn't exactly, "normal driving,") the car is as good as junked.
Filling the gas tank is a normal procedure, most if not all drivers do it frequently, and it is covered in the manual in the glove box.

I am not required to contact Ford technical support to figure out what to do when my car runs out of ga. (Or read the forums).

Both of mine are to. I think I will avoid the update menu for a bit.

The manual does actually mention the recovery procedure :) http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/Apple_TV_2nd_gen_Setup_Guide.pdf

It does require a micro-USB cable, not included.

Actually you'd be surprised how many people don't know how to fill their car up with petrol.

I get a person ask me how to fill up their car once in a while. I think that's on par with not knowing what to do with updating their Apple TVs.

Wed night 9:00pm PST and NO update available for my ATV2 that is running 4.3. Looks like Apple pulled the update.

cheers

I too downloaded the firmware and it locked up my AppleTV. I don't have a mini USB cord so I took it into the Apple Store. They tried resetting it by plugging it into iTunes but after one crash and a new person helping me (the first guy was fairly new and had never troubleshot an AppleTV) they informed me that engineering wanted to look at the ATV and they gave me a new one. For what it's worth.

I've just tried looking for the update, still not showing for me - does this update show as 4.4.1? Just wondering if maybe it shows as 4.4 and my Apple TV updated itself without me knowing?

Now they just need to fix the Netflix sound-out-of-sync bug I encounter often enough to now fire up my Roku when wanting to watch Netflix. Only been about a year now... any second now... :apple:

When that happens, just rewind it a by a few seconds, then when it starts playing again, the sound will be in sync for the rest of the movie/tv show.

4.4.1 still a no show

UK here, and 4.4.1 still not showing up. Running 4.4, which at least finally fixed the incorrect 60Hz auto selecting and now allows you to correctly set to the ATV to 50Hz for UK/EU TVs.

...

Anyone know what's the deal here? I'm still at 4.3 and it says that I'm up to date. It seems as though this has fallen through the cracks a bit...
