it's certainly possible. apple at one point sold the apple pro keyboard in both black and white versions.

Apple would definitely get rid of the white if they were to go with it...

isn't that kind of the point? the op asked if apple would release a keyboard with black keys in place of the white. i don't know, but it's certainly possible; apple's done it in the past.
 
Doesn't the MacBook Air have black keys? Could this be the future of Mac devices? I hope so, as I have never liked the white keys.
 
Me too! Was thinking of changing my white keys on my iMac keyboard to black. There's gotta be some way. I hate the white keys. They get dirty so fast.
 
Im surprised there isnt even a decent 3rd party option for black keys/aluminum body. I'm not buying some dumb cover either...
 
I'm starting to think the white keys look stupid in front of the iMac now. Would also like a black alternative.
