Other Apple keynote (?) date and time this year

Howdy! I totally know we don’t know the date yet 🙂

Historically, does Apple have the announcement and preorder the second or third week of September? Or is it a toss up? And it’s usually at 11 or 12 California time, I think?

I do this every year and yet my memory is terrible, it’s a medical condition, so I never remember things like this. I ask because I am likely getting a very part time job very soon (I’m disabled) and I miiight need to request that day off 😅

No one is going to be able to give you a definitive answer now, but my guess would be that the keynote is 9/9, 9/15, or 9/16. It's always at 10 a.m. PDT. Preorders usually start the Friday after the keynote and be available Friday the following week.

But... Due to the chip shortages, I wouldn't be surprised if things are different this year. Last time when there was a chip shortage (in 2020), some models didn't start shipping until October and November. There was just an article published about the uncertainty for the foldable: Foldable iPhone Still Faces Production Hurdles, Report Says.

Also, the 18 isn't expected to be released this fall; only the 18 Pros and the new foldable. The 18 is supposedly being released next spring.

No idea what labour day is, not American. But I anticipate Apple will hold the September launch event on one of those dates.

I don’t believe the current shortage will impact iPhones this year, Apple locks in components 10-12 months before an iPhone is launched, perhaps even 14-16 months now, due to the number of components and the iPhones scale. It’s not a last minute thing. 😂

100,000-200,000 sure 2-3 months prior would be sufficient. But when Apple is selling around 250 million iPhones a year, it takes time to amass all of the components for assembly.

Apple probably locked down components and suppliers shortly after announcing the iPhone 17 series last year.

The increase in prices should hit iPhone possibly in the next year or two, personally I believe Apple will raise prices next year with the iPhone XX, just like they did with the iPhone X

And I got the job, if anyone cares! 10am to 12:30pm EST, perfect for my cognitive and physical abilities, I will be recess/cafeteria aide at an elementary school 🙂 definitely not using my masters degree in social work haha but it DID make me “highly qualified” for the job! I get my phones every year for “free” with T-Mobile upgrade eligibility; I trade in the previous year’s phone with their typical promo of $1100 trade credit, which has always made my monthly phone installment payment negative which actually lowers my bill.

I always get the Pro Max solely for the camera and battery. I am so excited, New iPhone Season is my favorite thing and I look forward to it all year 🙂
