Will somebody please think about the ‘influencers’
Why not? Many or most of them are not rich. And Apple gets some inexpensive publicity out of it. Win-win. If Apple is going to only invite a handful of people, that's the right business move. Who else are they going to invite--Macrumors users? So we can later post on MR to tell each other the things that we found to hate about it? And if you think they should have announced a free public Alicia Keys concert in NYC to the world ahead of time, you're not thinking of the utter chaos of the hoards of people trying to be there and get the best views. And since it's a functioning public terminal, it could be that they weren't allowed to announce it.

🙄 I really detest it when Apple does this. Why not just post about it on an Apple social media account (e.g. Instagram, X/Twitter, etc) and make it first come, first serve see?
Apple isn't worried about making a viral moment. They know they're the kings of consumer tech.

Apple CEO Tim Cook, marketing chief Greg Joswiak, retail head Deirdre O'Brien, and hardware engineering boss John Ternus were at the Grand Central Terminal location for the concert.
Of course! What a life for some Apple ‘executives’! Screw all the Apple staff who were off the list 👍

Really, the execs get to attend? How about having held it for the workers of the store. Show some appreciation as well as live the values of being a company for the people.

Nah, I would rather go home and sleep. Never really bothered with these sort of events.

Next for the anniversary: another u2 album for everyone.

It’s okay. The uproar then proved that Apple users don’t deserve free stuff (because we are our own worse enemies), and I think it’s fitting that henceforth, we never have (received any free stuff).
