Apple Kicks Off Black Friday Sale With iTunes Gift Card Deals

Apple has just kicked off its deals for its one day Black Friday shopping event in the United States, and as previously announced, the company is offering special Product (RED)-branded iTunes gift cards with the purchase of an iPhone, iPad, Mac, iPod, Apple TV, or Beats by Dr. Dre headphones.

Gift card amounts for products vary and include $100 on select Macs, $50 on iPhones (6, 6 Plus, 5s, 5c), $50 on qualifying iPads, and $25 each on qualifying Apple TV, iPods, and Beats hardware, as noted below:

- iPhone ($50): iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c
- iPad ($50): iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, iPad mini
- Mac ($100): iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Retina iMac, Retina MacBook Pro
- iPod ($25): iPod touch, iPod nano
- Apple TV ($25)
- Beats by Dr. Dre ($25): headphones and speakers

Apple's (RED) Black Friday shopping promotion will last for a single day and the deals are available both in-store and online. Along with (RED) gift cards, Apple also plans to donate a portion of retail sales on Friday, November 28 and Monday, December 1 to the Global Fund to fight AIDS.

Alongside Apple, many other retailers are offering significant discounts on Apple products and accessories. While some of the deals began yesterday ahead of Black Friday, many of the discounts are still available and will be valid through the end of the day.

Best Buy and MacMall are offering significant discounts on a range of different Macs, with prices up to $200 off, and Best Buy is also discounting its entire iPad stock by up to $100.

Target is offering gift cards up to $140 on the iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad mini 2, and iPad mini 3, while Sam's Club has the best deal on the iPhone 6, offering it for $100 off. Online only stores are also offering deals, with Twelve South, for example, discounting several products and Speck offering 25 percent off many of its iPhone cases.

I like gift cards. Who doesn't like gift cards? To heck with ordinary gifts this year and please load me up with some Apple gift cards, specifically.
 
LOL, worst deal ever. Not even Apple Store cards you could use to get accessories or Applecare, just iTunes cards...

And not showing up in Canada either. Oh well, more profits, good for my apple stock.
 
Supermarkets in the UK are doing discounts. I picked up two £15 iTunes cards for £25 earlier this week.
 
Nothing in the Europe. And I planned to buy an iPhone and iPad today, and not a low end models. First the new mini, no new ATV, then this - Apple gives me only disappointments this year.
 
Or you can just use the never-ending black Friday sale from the refurbished section...

Except for the iPhone...
 
Black Friday disappointment

Can others confirm that there are absolutely no Black Friday deals outside of the US?
My intention was to get a new iphone #

Quite disappointed...
 
Problem Solved!

Well, I'm getting bored with this. So I had one look around to look for deals with today being an incentive. Since I saw no attractive BF deal in my area, the bucks will stay in the bank, and I ordered some fine Single Malt Whisky ... That saves a lot of time, and the day as well :)

Not very meaningful on a Mac site, I know ...

Lol. High end stuff don't get on sale. If you want hi end, get 6+ and Air 2. I like low end stuffs, so I just got Mini 2 yesterday for $225.
Btw, Thanksgiving is American holiday. Why would you expect Apple to give discounts in Europe?

iPad Air 2 at $399 is not a good deal, I don't know what is.

No Thanksgiving outside of US. No Black Friday. You people in other continents, please get that fact straight.

Because the world is getting global ... Nearly no one knew what Halloween was about in contintental Europe 10 tà 15 years ago ... Then some commercial hype was created around it, and it's pushed through our throats ...
Similarly, Black Friday was not really a continental Europe concept ... yet now, with Amazon and it's multiple "local" webshops, other sellers ... more and more shops start promoting Black Friday as a trigger to get you spending money ...
Where a seller decides on discounts the seller's decision; whether you postpose buying or wait for another year or so (let's admit it: rare are the ones who absolutely need NEW stuff NOW), is the buyer's action.
 
I just got the 6 on Monday, does Apple still let me get a gift card for matching this Bf deal or not?

Go on, I'll bite.

If you took the time to look in to these things you would have discovered that in previous years these deals were also made available to the rest of the world.

Time to do a little more research and get off your soapbox.

No Thanksgiving, that's right. But Black Friday has been adopted outside the US, especially in Europe. There are Black Friday deals in (almost) all major online stores. And most physical stores promote some kind of Black Friday deals. Only exemption here is Apple, which had deals last year #

Btw, there was no Halloween in Europe 15 years ago... To get together with family and enjoy each others company over a great meal, we have Christmas... #

Oh, and before I forget: no deals in Canada I heard. That's on the same continent, last time I looked #
 
Bad show Apple, you are missing out big time in the UK. But it's not just about getting some sales volume, it's to do with customer satisfaction and loyalty.

On the other hand, John Lewis, by far my favourite retailer, is doing just famously...

08.40 This just in from John Lewis: online traffic between midnight at 6am was four times higher than Black Friday last year -- which was itself four times higher than John Lewis' website had ever seen before. The department store is currently selling one Nutribullet every 30 seconds, although the fastest selling deal so far is the Apple iPad mini for £149.
