Apple today launched its annual Back to School promotion in Mexico, most countries in Europe, some countries in Asia, and the Middle East providing qualifying higher education students and educators with free AirPods when purchasing an eligible Mac or iPad.

Second-generation AirPods with a wired charging case (valued at $159) are available when purchasing a new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, iMac Pro, iPad Pro, or iPad Air. During checkout, back to school shoppers can choose to upgrade to a wireless charging case for the AirPods or the AirPods Pro for an additional fee.

The low-cost iPad, iPad mini, Mac mini, and refurbished products from Apple are not eligible for the Back to School promotion, but all educational purchases are available at a discount through the EDU store in each country.

Apple's Back to School promotion will require verification through UNiDAYs in many countries. Products can be purchased from the educational store on the EDU website for each country or in Apple retail stores. Full terms and conditions can be found on the promotional pages on Apple's country-specific websites.

Back to School deals are available to students and educators in countries that include Mexico, the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Russia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Singapore, and Thailand.

Apple earlier this year launched the same Back to School offer in the United States and Canada.

Bought my iPP last week!! So do I return and rebuy or will customer service be able to help?

This is just an opinion but maybe it would be a good deal to choose if you either want the airpod or a free apple care, because normally student have their macs up and down and so at least their macs would have insurance, i repeat its only an opinion

Just ordered a mbp today, bad timing. Will have to see if they will do something or I will return and reorder!

You might be able to cancel and reorder if you just ordered today.

just tried on my order, and I think because they are updating the store I can’t get to my order to cancel (I’m in the UK so cutting it short lol)

One key yet subtle mention in this BtS program is the replacement of the Beats Inc branded headphones bundled with MBA/MBPs and replaced with 2nd get AirPods (with wireless charging case as an upgrade able option)!!

I wonder if that means Beats will get an overhaul of product lineup this fall or if too much stock for the AirPods and needs to get out?

TBF I don’t use the charger, and I reckon most don’t. It will be more environmentally friendly to not send one.

I am so happy if that happens. The package can be smaller for further costs reduced with shipping more phones in the same physical space.

I wonder if Apple will hold off on new Macs until after the Back to School Promotion so they can get rid of the old stuff.

That's because they kept putting a garbage 5W charger in there while everyone else was including fast chargers. 5W was fine when it was the iPhone 5S and below, but 5W is worthless for big devices.

Not everyone needs a more powerful charger, so just buy what you need. Or use what you got.

I’m getting the iPad Pro 12.9 and Apple Pencil. I’ll be upgrading to the AirPods Pro’s too.

What about you?
