I don't know

I failed to see the point on the US market, and I still don't see the point here.

I get to my local rental service and pay 7€ for 3 movies of choice for a weekend. My XBox 360 upscales DVDs just fine.

so what should be the incentive to rent just one movie for 2,99€ or 3,99$ respectively?

your local video store has surely only a limited amount of dvds (especially the blockbuster films). meaning, when you get there, you might not be able to rent the movie (well some have reservation systems, but anyway...)

you don't have to leave your living room to get a movie.

that would be some incentives. surely not the best ones, but well... nothing is perfect.

Yes, you're right. That's definitely a good point, if I'm in the mood for a Blockbuster movie.

But honestly, I'm not the target group as I love to browse through their library. They usually have one or two copies of rather special interest movies (like those that are featured on the renowned Fantasy Filmfest). Sometimes you pick a bad apple, but most of the time I tend to find some jewels, that I doubt I would even recognize on iTunes.

Yeah - couch potatoes renting blockbusters are a perfect target
