The 2016 iPad Pro 9.7 model is still the best iPad. Apple should ditch the idea of all these different models and just go back to releasing one model. It's getting a little confusing.

Maybe Apple should just give up the education market then. Their business model is very different from Google’s and it’s clear they won’t be able to compete directly on price.

Premium pricing works great for consumers but sucks for enterprise. And even Apple can’t have their cake and eat it too.

what is confusing about a stale 7.9 Mini, entry level 9.7, 10.5 Pro, and a 12.9 Pro? Apple has fewer tablet models than Samsung and Amazon. Are Apple customers less capable of deciding between ipad models than Samsung and Amazon customers?

I totally agree with you! They seen to be saying that the future is tablets for PCs but only does what their competitor mostly Samsung has been doing in both tablets and smartphones for several years ago, Apple is doing now and use hype to twist it so that they are using the cutting edge technology in development of their Apple devices. They just not into new products but just react to Samsung offering and call it new technology. It been working well too. I guess the R&D is very low since you just copy the competition. Apple alway said they are spending more on R&D every year but nothing comes of it yet!

Did anyone notice that the new iPad does not seem to have a "Fully laminated display" and "Antireflective coating" that even the older iPad Mini 4 has?

The Mini are much better screens and higher ppi then any iPad screens of today. To get a tablet that is more ppi, you have to jump to Samsung's Tab series with 400+ ppi.

Yep, no reason to not even think its 2 gb...they updated that processor and added pencil support and disregarded the rest. iOS really only needs the bare minimum to perform, its us who use multiple apps/split screen/multitask that need the additional ram (applaud samsung to getting me use this). Otherwise, you will not even be able to tell much of a difference even if you have a pro 10.5/2nd gen 12.9. But that 120 HZ screen makes a difference in scrolling but you start to not even notice it after a while and the special-ness goes away.
The new Pro use 4GB of current RAM LPDDR4 while the the rest of the iPads still used the much older cheaper LPDDR3 RAM.

When you have to resort using Amazon and Samsung to make a point, you've already lost lol. Steve Jobs had it right. Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity. When he came back, he cut the bloat and knew what he was doing and as a result, Apple is where it is now.

Had he lived and was still running the show, there would only be one model a year and you know what? All of the resources wouldn't be stretched thin. We'd have fewer products but they'd be better products.

this looks like a very worthy upgrade from the iPad Air if you're like me still holding onto one. iOS11 definitely needs more UMPH than the old CPU and 1gb of RAM is capable of
