Apple recently launched a new iPad Pro ad series that features Twitter comments about iPad and responds to them, fashioning iPad Pro as a laptop replacement. The videos feature both 9.7 and 12.9 inch models. Some might find this interesting, seeing as rumors about new iPads and iPad pros launching in March are common.

In recent weeks, 12.9 inch pro supplies have been scarce, making it hard to even buy one. Why do you think Apple would target advertising these devices if they're debuting new ones next month?

It could mean they're gearing up for a "Pro Hard Sell" with the new ones.
On the other hand, it could just be a signal that new ones are coming in October instead of March.
Or, I suppose, it could have absolutely nothing to do with new ones.

Also, I'll add that these ads are terrible. I hate "vs" ads and these are, as mentioned, terrible.

Either way, newer iPads are certainly amongst us. Rather it be March or October, Air 2's and iPad Mini 4's are completely sold Out in my area and has been since January. Even online, there are constraints.

Plenty of stock in my area for the most part for everything. Though looking at a couple places locally, that are official Apple re-sellers, I see the IPP accessories (even Apple branded silicon cases and smart covers) all on discount, whereas the Air 2 ones aren't.

It is odd timing for these ads if there was nothing coming, and, for them to focus on the Pro model, but it goes to show what is going to be happening. As I have said here before, this further backs up my thought that we'll see updated Pro models (internals only) in a month, and that the 10.5 bezeless "Air 3" will debut with the bezeless Iphone 8 in the Fall. Whether the Air 2 is dropped now or in the Fall, who knows.

So the push now is to get the Pro name (and sales numbers) back up the ladder before the Fall, with a renewed marketing push; and my guess is the 9.7 Pro may get a bit of a price drop too, with the 10.5" sliding between it and the 12" IPP in the Fall $ wise. So the 9.7 IPP will be the "cheapest" of the non-Mini Ipads, (but will still cost more than the current Air 2) which again, is why these particular ads with this content are being dropped on us now.

I think I will not buy present iPad Pro or ciming up with new because of built-in battery. There's no way to replace it but have to buy new iPad Pro, not good idea! Correct me if I'm wrong.
