I am reading a lot of people who are unhappy with the latest Apple leather cases for iPhones 12 and 13 Pro...I want one for my iPhone 13 pro max and can get a golden brown one for £20 which seems like a pretty good deal. it isn't if they are complete rubbish though, I can get a Ryan London leather case otherwise for £45 which is about the most I would entertain paying.

What is the consensus? Avoid or okay?

Well, on this side of the of the forum you have people who are addicted to buying cases to ridiculous degrees - so they might not be as happy as a normal person who just wants 1 case and be done with it.

If you're the person above where you just want one nice quality case and forget about it, yes the Apple leather is pretty fantastic. Leather will patina and since these new iphones are squared off--the edges of the leather case will get darker and fade. After a while the case should even out in terms of patina. But since on this forum people are addicted to buying cases, the patina doesn't even patina properly before they move on to another case.

Besides, I ALWAYS end up on the Apple leather case no matter how many other cases I've tried at the end of the day. Eventually, I just use the iPhone caseless. So might as well cut out the BS and go straight for the Apple leather!

Or you have those who ‘force’ patina, completely destroy the case and then moan about the poor quality haha.

Apple leather cases are great. Golden brown is not though. As the dye wears off (or it patinas as some say) it looks horrible. Go for midnight, cherry or green.
