Strange, I saw this on ebay, which has a much bigger structure than mine, they seem to be made of different leather.

Anyway, the back is only a good 1mm thick including the microfiber, that can't be real leather, can it? Although I must admit the touch, while too smooth is very pleasant. But it looks like I need to change to a Vaja for real leathery look & feel, the Apple case while maybe made of natural material just looks too perfect.

That looks like the leather case for the iP6

Wow i just got 6+ case from bestbuy and this is a better fit! And also not slippery. It just feels more premium than 6s one. Go get it until its gone its cheaper as well

Did the same thing. Bestbuy.com still has the old versions, and it's not close on which is better quality. Go and try it for yourself, they did something to the finish on these new cases that completely ruins the feel of the soft leather. At least that's the way it was on 2 different saddle brown cases I tried. Has nothing to do with breaking in the case for a bit, the feel and softness right out of the box is completely different. It's also marked down $5 online- no brainier really.

Sorry, sure it is, but my new smooth one is an ip6 too. So the change didn't happen between 6 and 6s. They either changed manufacturing/manufacturer a while ago or maybe or they have different ones.

I don't understand how I'm the only person in the world who thinks the leather cases from Apple are joke. No more than a month went by and my red leather case I got for the six last year was destroyed by my jeans. It looked so dirty and awful but it was just the materials rubbing against each other, not actual dirt.
That's why stopped using analine leather in the new S cases.

They are now finished in a more standard coating that will absorb less oils and maintain the original color longer. As is used in handbags and many seats and couches.

I posted a whole spiel about my experiences with my saddle brown case after 8 days in a different thread, but all I have to say is it's worth it as the case feels fantastic now.

Saw the other thread, they look very nice and definitely better than my olive. Also love the rough look of the Vajas, but then they are 2mm thicker...decisions ;)

What colour was the other case? The iPhone 6 leather cases had different finishes depending on what colour it was. Look at the photo I took of my navy blue and red leather. The red feels completely different to the navy and not in a good way. It feel even less like leather.

Both olive and difference like night and day. My olive looks like your red and probably feels like it. I think none of them has a natural color anyway.

Target still has original Apple leather iPhone 6 Plus cases. Bought one today and compared to this years Apples black leather on my 6S+. Last years version is way better. Fits perfectly not tight like this years version and it has or feels like it has more grip. This years version is to slippery holding it one hand. Took case back to apple for a refund showed the guy the difference in cases and he even said it looks like last years version does fit and feel better on the 6S+.

I think the new Apple leather case for the 6S is much nicer than last year.

Apple uses treated leather so it doesn't absorb skin oils so quickly and more likely to keep its original color than the Analine version. Fits absolutely fine.

And prefer the saddle brown color way much more than last years olive brown.

My preference.
