I’ve typically gotten Apple leather cases for my iPhones. It was always good quality, good fit, never had any issues. I recently picked up the iPhone 13 Pro Max with black Apple Leather Case. I keep my phones on an Encased belt clip when carrying, and I use Pro Clip cradles with the Lightning in my car. Everything has just worked so well.
Oddly, with this version of Apple Leather, for some reason, I kept finding the lower left of the phone would slide up in the case and would be raised. Easy enough to push it back in, but didn’t feel as secure as every other version.
I exchanged it at Apple, and the second one did the same. So I purchased the Nomad. I love good leather and the patina it develops. The Nomad is definitely a quality case with good hard rubber, it felt very secure around the phone, no slipping, and enough of a lip around the top. The problem is, the edge along the top and bottom has more material making the phone slightly taller, and the lightning hole a little deeper. This made the belt clip not feel like it was going to stay clipped in. The deal breaker was when I plugged it into the pro clip cradle, and the hole was deep enough to not allow connection.
I returned it and ordered a Bullstrap. This turned into the Goldilocks case. It’s perfect! High quality leather, it’s a beautiful dark brown, and the quality is impressive. First test passed, fits perfect in the encased cradle on my side. Feels nice and secure.
Second test was a given, being that it’s open on the bottom like the older Apple Leather, it slides easy into the cradle and of course connects every time. I am so happy with this case that I am considering getting a black version ti change it out. I also like the slope of the camera bump, it lays easier on the back and doesn’t have that same movement as the plastic used on Nomad and Apple Leather.
Hope this might help someone that uses the same type of accessories.
