You have a critical security bug on your iPhone.

Option 1: Apple tells the world about the security bug, and how to exploit it, but doesn't fix it for 1-3 weeks.

Option 2: Apple tells the world about the security bug at the moment they fix it.

Which would you prefer? Right now Apple's doing option #1.

They didn't tell the world iOS had the bug. And the independent security folks had found it at that point. They said they were good. No admission, and a bit of bluffing. Then they patch. Sounds smart to me.

Learn to read, up until recently she was part of apple's security team.

Yeah, she's also a quitter. I read the whole article three times. I know she is. She's a blogger now, because she's a failure as a security person obviously. Instead of blaming herself she blames apple, just like all humans do.

Haha, you act as if she was fired, she left to work at another company. So obviously you didn't read it.

Well, good for her. But don't go whining about Apple. I'm sure the company she works for has security flaws as well, but no one picks them out.

Why don't you just see the good apples trying to do? You have blinders on. Leave and go bash samsung.

Once again you reading skills aren't too sharp, she never bashed apple for having security flaws, she bashed them for pretty much telling people what they were while some of their devices still were vulnerable.

Apple leaves users vulnerable by just not issuing fixes timely, period. It doesn't even matter if it's a security issue. There are plenty of flaws in underlying APIs that don't ever get fixed until the next major (+0.1) revision. Maybe less of an issue now that upgrades are free, but they still make you wait too long for any fixes.

Apple have never been good at this, this includes the time this woman was working there. Pointing the finger now, seems a bit odd, why did she not do a proper job when she was working there? To me it looks like an act of 'revenge' from a bitter woman.
She has a point, but at the same time she was part of the cause for the problem.

A good point.

Your spelling skills aren't too sharp. It's "reading" just so you know. Before you call me out, check yourself man. And in response to that, YOU TRY IT! Go code an OS and see of you can do it and come back and tell me.

I agree, but I believe her point is that they should not publish those vulnerabilities if they are not going to do both at the same time. Otherwise, you are leaving the other platform at major risk.

You are correct, I didn't think of that.

And how long does google make you wait? At least Apple ships updates.

Apple should hold off and release at the same time, or, don't post the issues that were fixed until everything has been fixed.

Good job, i edited the post 5 seconds after i posted it, stalking my post much? None the less this women is more certified than either of us so your point is pretty hypocritical, good job on deflecting on the original point btw.

She's not unemployed, she left Apple to work at Tesla Motors. Having a blog doesn't mean not having a professional activity. Also she blogs since 2009.

Lol, no but I'm going to prove my point. And sure she is. She's a whiner too. She needs to get her priorities straight before she bashes someone else.

Already established.

I guess I misunderstood your post. What did you mean with "She's a blogger now, because she's a failure as a security person obviously."?

----------

who said it wasn't?

The security fixes discussed in the article were released first with Safari 7.0.3, not yesterday with the last security update for OSX.

My priorities are fine. I'm not calling out a company for actually caring.

How does simply pointing out an issue with it the process insinuating that apple doesn't care? Does a parent that does something a little messed up not care when someone gives advice to how to do it better?

No I meant someone already told me. You didn't misunderstand.

No but it's constant. It's always "the death of Apple", people are always too dramatic. Apple sold a ton of iPhones this quarter, but I'm sure some of you will come out and say, "well they've sold too many, they're failing." It just inevitable. And if I say something actually true about samsung I get called out for it. It's not right at All!
