Apple LED Cinema Display connected via USB?

Like others have tried, I want to use a 2010 27" Apple LED Cinema Display (MiniDisplay male plug) with a 2024 MacBook Air (2 USB-C aka Thunderbolt 4 female ports)

  • as i d love to have only one cable connected to the laptop, I am planning on connecting the monitor to my Anker USB hub (via "MiniDisplay Female => USB Male" connector)
  • and then connect the Anker hub to the MBA (via "USB=>USB-C" adaptor)
Essentially, i want to pass video through MiniDisplay-to-USB without using any "USB-C to miniDP converter"
=> Is this going to work at all?
