Hmm, that does look like TN. Apparently, the MBP is still much better. Keep in mind that during regular use, you won't notice this much, if at all. You'll be looking straight at the screen.

Its fine for use. Its one of the better tn screens. VA screens use alot more energy than tn and cost a lot more which is why we don't see them in laptops often. There used to be thinkpads with IPS screens but they're no longer made.
