Hi,

Both me and my wife's bedside cable started getting yellow at the tip.
Has anyone had this issue?
These are original (bought on apple.pl) so I am quite amazed at this.
Also, if you have seen this, do you know if it's just cosmetic or I should not leave these hanging besides my bed all day?

My cables have done something similar, gone yellow at many points along them, no idea why.

They are genuine cables too.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Cheetos in bed?..... No but seriously could it be the lamp from your nightstand possibly affecting the color?

Unfortunately no to both :( I have a small cable as well in my car connected to the USB port and it had the same issue :(

Someone on reddit said that it was the precursor to the shielding falling apart. Not sure how to verify for sure if it’s that, but I replaced both cables... don’t want to burn down my apartment :)

I changed brands on skin lotion a few months ago, and both of my Apple-original lightning cables quickly changed to some shade of orange-y, in that same area, and both have shed that last inch of "white" cover, so that area is just the shielding under the cover, which had just flaked away. Both cables still work fine, just look a bit ratty. It all happened rather quickly on mine, probably within a month or two.
All seemed to be where I touched with sometimes-moist fingers.
(I changed hand lotion again  but haven't replaced the cables yet. )

Hum that is interesting, I do use hand cream. Will check if it happens again with the cables I put there.
Still doesn’t explain the car one as I don’t moisturize in the car :)
