My mail app is completely broken on iOS 18.2 beta. I know because I have so many more emails showing up on my iPad. Probably 30% missing on the phone

Thats not missing its the way things that have been read are not displayed. You can select by Categories or List now. If filter is active with unread enabled everything else will be hidden. Yes it a bit disturbing to encounter this as defaults.
